I think the only reason companies want groups to be popular in the west is because K-Pop is practically dead in Korea and they need to make money elsewhere. On the other hand, K-Pop fans are the ones who want their faves to be sucessful in the west while claiming K-Pop is better than west.
Basically, west does not need K-Pop, but K-pop needs western fans
I believe that in parallel universe Jimin would be a nice person and they could have a comeback as a full group, because Moya is one of my personal favourites and I will admit that I would miss Jimin´s voice in their songs... I understand that this might be unpopular opinion cause many people dislike her voice, but I believe it was one of the reasons whyAOA songs were so good. Image Like a cat without Jimin´s intro... impossible

except for when 2NE1 had a comeback at the same time... the fan wars were like nothing I have ever seen. Army vs Exo-L vs Blinks is not even comparable to when Mr Mr and Come back home were supposed to come out, believe me. But overall SNSD was more dominant
I thought the results would be the exact opposite.... but oh well, I listened to Heartbeat for a month nonstop when it came out, so no competition for me there
They promote in America so no, they aren't just idols anymore.
It just looks ignorant of them to reap the benefits of America without speaking out on the negative issues.
"Reap the benefits of America" is a bit too much. Like I said they are entertainers, people buy their albums because they like their music. BP are not political figures, they don´t have obligation to speak on political issues of any country. It´s not like BP is profiting of some political campaign in the US. Just because they promote in America does not mean they rae not idols anymore.
That's not an excuse. When you're at that level of fame, you have to use your platform for good.
No they don´t have to use their platform. That´s purely american thinking to think that when you are a celebrity you have to speak out on political issues. They are idols, they entertain people. That´s all. Don´t force your expectations on idols.
well this is even worse then... but still he has so many people around him, even if he is mistaken as an artist the people around him should tell him, that this is not working
to be fair he looked like he wasn´t even trying in the first place, but if the song is clearly out of his range and he is not comfortable singing such song then why make him release it in the frst place? I´m sure they can find song writers who can write songs which would fit his range.... and it´s not even for a whole group, he is solo singer, like the song only needs to fit his vocals... smh
I don´t know how old you are, but around 2010 that was a very common thing, on facebook to pretend you are a celebrity, there were literally thousands of disney channel starts accounts pretending to be them, this is not a new trend at all at least now kids know that they are not real idols, back then a lot of people believed they were real
