Yep this is the life cycle of every Kpop group. When they debut, they attract a whole legion of young listeners who become devoted fans. They grow together, both the group and fanbase. Eventually the fanbase outgrows Kpop or the idols themselves outgrow Kpop and the group disbands. Which paves the way for the next generation of groups and a new crop of young listeners to attract.
But as the user said it's much more obvious with twice.
Looks back at their earlier comebacks. There was clearly more effort put in until they reached an aesthetic that if you used bright enough colors could be passable with less effort.
And the fandom won't complain and will actually defend the company.
I was called a hater because I and alot of other ppl were saying how cheap twice was getting back in 18' and the fand called us haters. Didn't open their eyes under the hype of the eras past and Sana called Yes or Yes cheap and then the issues with the stylist. Schoolgirl outfits every comeback, uncreative stages. USING THE SAME MUSIC VIDEO 2 YEARS LATER (cheer up and will same music video)
Red velvet had a similar thing but that came with the change of the groups magement.
NONE of their era even their most successful one comes close to the budget that dumb dumb had.
That award show performance! THE PRODUCTION. Even their most popular releases didn't see that. The next time we saw memorable aesthetics was during peekaboo and bad boy which music video aside was just cute outfits. Red velvets stage sets haven't been very impressive since then.
Umpah umpah was literally scraps.
Also in general groups hype and quality wernt sustained well in gen 3 they just wernt
Black pink is the only group I think of that visual got more extravagant as time went on

Try to give us next level 2.0 with a better bridge but overall worse song.
(No shade to next level it slaps and the bridge is art but this bridge is even better somehow Really Bad Boy could never)

Minas parts are the best parts of the song and mv I with Tzuyu got more parts her voice suits it.
-
Lets talk about it.
It wasn't JUST the fact twice did cute concepts.
It's the fact that they got cuter and more childish between 2017 and 2018.
They weren't just pigeon holed but also condensed.
WIL's music video is literally cheer up. The well was running dry.
Yes or Yes was clearly changed last minute to be more cute because those stages were a hot ass mess. And that MV was cheap as hell.
Even Lovelyz, who's first few comebacks we're questionable (achoo is a bop tho), was able to mature within their concept.
Apink matured into their concept.
So it could have happened they just didn't want it to.
Feel Special was a step in the right direction but then More &More styling happened and Can't Stop me's chorus makes my ears bleed cause they don't care if the main vocals could hit the note or not
JYP needs to steal that idea from SM. He saw the starter kit for SNSD and just ran with it without reading directions.
And they waited too long to start pushing solo projects and stuff. The focus is on itzy now
I think that's why twice resigned because they don't have anything established for themselves outside of the group.
Which may have been on purpose so JYP could keep and milk them longer. From day 1 it was clear who the biggest personalities in twice were which could be a bad thing is he got his Suzy 2.0. (Santa it's Sam's, Naeyeon is hbic but Dana give Suzy energy)
JYP probably feels comfortable throwing Twice to the USA because they've already peaked in Korea.
Itzys debut sound well has ALREADY ran dry.
Mafia in the morning was the last sip of a flat sprite.
And their new sounds is kinda generic.
He is not good at pacing his groups at all. And rushes them through their prime imo and doesn't know how to have to peak twice. Pun not intended.
Their music has improved in Japan though but in a "out time in the industry is ending " kinda way.
Tell me Kura Kura doesn't sound like twice looking back fondly over their careers and then looking forward to the future.
Also The Feels is good, but missing some spice. The mv is fine? It feels old school twice but why? Especially for the west that seems counter productive.
Yes the song insinuats a mature.....emotion *wink wink* but the mv gives WIL innocence and it's conflicting in an odd way.
Like....Prom? Really?
PROM?!
Okay jyp

A very solid follow up to TT tbh I just with the stages styling was better besides like those b&w white outfits the the script on them ugh some of twices best looks.
We love a fun chill song and a euphemism
-
They gave my a more refined upscale sound
-
I'm concerned for itzy sounds tbh it feels like that ran through their early concepts kinda quick.
Mafia sounds tiered. Itzy will have to evolve their concept soon.
Niziu is like a more unpolished version of Twice
I think their girl group will do what twice was supposed to do with LOA and be a relaxed girl next door but with some edge not as hype as itzy. It's give them.more room for development

2020 for korean comebacks
2021 for japanese comebacks.
The past two years overall has been their best in terms of quality.

Yes money is sexy

Yes its so personable and so much fun! Great introduction to the group type song.

Debuted with Ladies their debut would have HIT cause what is this blessing?
-
-
That's bothered me about the sound of Holiday Night. It felt very has been. There was a certain energy that came from the album that felt very tiered.
-
Yup!!! She was a core to their sound.
Especially in japan. I know they
had issues deciding which songs could be ot8 there and probably why we didnt get another japan album or tour (a 4th one was rumored)
In the Lion Heart album its obvious jessicas voice was meant to be on these songs. Especially Sign n Lion Heart. It sounds so flat and kinda sad without her.its missing the bump it needs to fully HIT. I know there's an OT9 version of it SOMEWHERE and SM needs to leak it.
That album had barely any harmonies, it was mostly solo parts because SNSD iconic harmony was gone without her.
The only songs off that album that didnt need Jess were Check, Paradise and One Afternoon.
Also im convinced You Think was a dual single because SM wanted to be petty cause Jess debuted and was threatening to outsell snsd. Hence her being blacklisted so she wouldnt obliterate them on music shows
They finally figured it out by Holiday Night relying heavily on Taeyeon n tiffany to smooth it out but the harmonies felt heavier
The songs were ......the album felt like the last hurah! Like the final burst of energy before the party ended and everything became memories. The vibe of the album literally reads as "goodbye" n it will not be revisited.
Holiday isnt as bad as yall say it is. Yall just hate the styling. And we would have seen more and probably more mature looks if SM didnt cut the promotions.
But All Night is the best song on the album.
read between the lines. Theres basically saying theyre women now and down to bone.
Its more obvious with the demo which has a clearer sexy flair. But for some reason it was softened up for the official version.
I guess girls in high heels saying theyre "Burning Up" sounds too h*rny and the song needed some cold water.
