I mostly agree with you here and that I think her comments are a reaction to everyone acting as though NewJeans is all Hybe and she rightfully objects to that. The only bone I have to pick with it is that her wording comes off as though she is cutting Hybe out completely though she never actually SAYS that and yes, pann took that inch and ran a fucking mile with it.

Being in her position with the New Jeans brand rising as sharply as it is and being as outspoken as she seems to be so far, the media will take it and of course try to make as big a controversy out of it as they can. And that unfortunately means that to counter that she'd be wise to be VERY careful with her wording and phrasing lest the blow back get out of control.

Real artists don't care about your brand of political correctness. So stop trying to shove it down people's throats like it's something to prioritize.

That's Red Velvet to the tee. That's why a group like a TWICE or Red Velvet or BTS will never better a group like GFRIEND to me. They were too much a product of their times.

It was mostly due to the quality of the songs., especially Hype Boy and Ditto. Don't forget that. Obviously BTS and HYBE did during those latter stages of BTS when they were chasing after that worthless Grammy award.

The undulating part in the chorus from 2:38-2:44 gets me every time, it's like a pleading for "them" to come back:

It's the little things with this song that makes it from good to maybe great.

It's really great. There's so much emotionality underneath it all-- it's a rollercoaster of emotions in the undercurrents of the song. I thought the chorus was too repetitive initially, but as I keep coming back to it, it works-- when you listen to it from beginning to end, it works. It makes you feel the lost, the yearning, the reciprocation, and also the unrequitedness of love. Great song.
