I heard there will not be a livestream so maybe the fancams will have a better backtrack level, it sounded much better in the fancam clips last weekend. Trying to find something positive.. they are in a completely unreasonable situation right now and it's not like they can miraculously improve their singing ability in a week. Honestly a bit worried for the members.

Either wayStarship seems to do a good job at setting them up to succeed and getting the most out of their abilities so there should be nothing to worry about.
Omg! This is still a controversy in Korea how many days later? It's Wednesday there!
Yeah it's actually incredible that there are still daily new viral posts on Korean forums. The worst part is that it will just start again next weekend even if it were to quiet down. It's really gotten out of hand.
I worry for the members, especially since they are performing again. The pressure must be out of this world.
no, all this could’ve been prevented if they’d just turned up the backtrack like everyone else with a brain did
You are correct. 98% of kpop stages with live vocals use a louder backtrack than what they had. It allows them to skip singing when necessary and not go out of breath. Their actual vocals would sound better even in a MR removed if they had a louder backtrack, just because they would change their strategy for singing. With a backtrack this low they'll be pressured to sing every line whereas the norm is to skip lines or parts of lines. They ended up skipping lines only when they went completely out of breath and at that point the vocals have already suffered a lot.
You've seen it in the fancams, they sounded better because the backtrack was louder at the venue. It honestly could even be a mistake by Coachella, they obviously did a soundcheck at the venue but maybe the mixing was messed up for the livestream.
It's really the companys fault for putting them in this situation, they should understand what the members are capable of and how to achieve the best performance quality. It's honestly shocking that it's so obvious to mere peasants like me but one of the top companies can mess up it up.
They still would have gotten some hate for the loud backtrack but probably 90% less and it would have calmed down very quickly because you can just write all that off with "everyone does it" which is true.
Now the problem is that the controversy has completely blown up to ridiculous proportions and the response will probably be bad no matter what they do.

I think they could've just turned up the backtrack a bit more and the response would have been far better.
I don't think there is any shame in doing that at all when there's intense choreo in the performance. I'm not sure why the company would choose to emphasize their weakest area as much as possible when they're very strong elsewhere
I still liked the performances and I respect that they went for it. They'll improve at live singing when they tour.
