Ichart and Circle are compilation charts.
The reason why people used to use Melon was because they at one point Melon used to have like over 50% of market share.
YouTube does not have 50% yet, the barely have a bit more than Melon now.
https://www.instiz.net/spage/8
ichart need to update the points for youtube, they are 4 times less than melon points.

first snow uls holding so well. other christmas songs are droping hardly

EXO popularity was very constant throughout. They have been doing well since they hit big in 2013 in a very consistent way.
In 2016 monster was a hit but lotto was a miss and for life was also a so so but in 2018 love shot and tempo both were hit and in 2017 kkb was a hit and Universe was a hit but power was so so.
In 2015 LMR, CMB and SFY were all hits.
So 2015 > 2017,2018> 2016 number of hit songs wise.
But I wouldn’t say it was because EXO was bigger or smaller during those times, they always maintained their level of popularity but some songs were better than others so they performed better.
you have so many hits there. only love shot can be considered a proper hit. other songs are just so so. consider the chart climate in 2016-2017 which is very dynamic.

I Am had a higher digital point peak on Circle and has better overall longevity.
Super Shy spent more days at #1, got more PAKs and was the #1 song on the Gallup year-end survey.
When you bring in global stats, the conversation ends entirely.
If not for Cupid, Super Shy would be the longest charting girl group song in Billboard 100 history, tied with Ice Cream (which featured Selena Gomez).
i would say Gallup is interesting. i remember it more into the time the survey taken, which affects by the popularity of the song at the time. in korea, i still think i am is the biggest hit. its still in top 10 many charts atm

Just because no one was fired before for breaking the law does not mean no one should be held accountable in the future too. This was an opportunity for them to set things right going forward here on by firing said person and make sure this becomes a precedence but nope they decided to not do the right thing.
i do agree the employee behaviour is wrong , but you need to understand worker right needs to be protected and treated fairly by everyone. i dont see how some celebrities cause some special treatment of the outcome than others. Hybe should step in the sue the employee and the government. otherwise, in this case, the result is fair.

Let's Say Goodbye's chart performance goes a bit under the radar but it is climbing up the charts again. First entered the top 10 at the start of May, went out of it a couple of times, but is now back at #5. Never had a big uls peak but its stability compared to hit songs released around the same time is impressive.
Meanwhile, both I AM and Ditto still showing why they're considered the best peforming songs of this year. I AM at 12 on Melon in its 34th week, while Ditto is at #22 in its 51st week (20k uls gap between them). On Youtube the former is at #8 with 1.6m streams while the latter is at #11 with 1.4m streams.
also fyi, it is nice that Guyso readded some of the demographics to the Daily Chart numbers (age and gender). Always thought that was a very useful feature
i thought the song flopped originally as it did peak in top 10mfor 1 or 2 weeks, then i think it went viral and start charting again. it is winter so koreans needs a sad song to deal with I guess. the song is very stable.

omg performed worse in youtube than I thought. the song is great but maybe their mv is not good ?

Not kpop news, but some spotify economics news.
101 Million / 27.2 Billion = .0037 cents per stream.
https://www.billboard.com/busi…ow-much-worth-1235524477/
So I need to stream my faves 270 times to make them 1 dollar.
If the song is 3 minutes long, I need to listen to 810 minutes or 13.5 hours of spotify so my faves can make 1 dollar.
its also from which country your account based. definitely someone stream in US, EU has high value than in other Asian country. work the same way as Youtube

big bang was by far the most liked boy group of all time. Old kpop fans would understand this as they were ruling the chart like they're girl group during their prime years. The most slayage during Alive & MADE era. The chartings were unbelievable especially MADE which spawned #1hits every 1-2 months
SNSD, honestly depsite being crowned NGG, their digital power is not impressive aside from Gee, Genie, Oh!
BTS and SNSD is very similar situation, both claimed to be national level groups, but their digital is not the best.
bts only have Bwl, Dynamite, butter as actual hit. the rest is due to longevity of fandom stream. if they can comeback in 2025 with a huge success as these 3 above, they might pass SNSD level

I was expecting SVT to win ROTY just because they charted exceptionally well the entire year for BG standards. IVE would have made sense too considering they had 3x Melon monthly chart #1 songs in one year and it's Melon Music Awards after all. NJs obviously deserving but feels pointless to receive this made up bonus award if you already won Artist of the Year.
But I don't think it's that deep, a 100% judge award with no defined criteria is never going to make sense anyway.
i agree. But didn’t SM and kakao together in 1 house this year ? it would be ok to hand out a free daesang for an SM act anw.

There's several things to point out of that chart though.
The songs around 2007-2009 used to have waaaay better longevity than the years later, that's why you can see many songs released those years with 5-8 weeks on top.
After that the downloads started to rise a lot and we got into an era where the top song was changing basically each week. Even some of the biggest hits of those years like Oh!, Fantastic baby or I am the best just spent 1-2 weeks on top. The fact that T-ara is not even in that ranking pretty much explains everything.
Then the change of price in the downloads happened and the streaming era started, slowly, and songs became to have better longevity on top until the situation we are now (the change of chart system rushed the change but even before the change in 2020 songs were already having better longevity), that seems again similar to the predownload era.
Not gonna discuss who's bigger than who since that is some deep analysis, but that chart can't be used as reference, we shouldn't take a ranking of a chart that has been there for more than 15 years without analyzing all the changes that happened in the system and in the market.
Edit: Also I just realized, there're some numbers that are wrong lmao, Gone not around any longer didn't spend 7 weeks on top, that would have been insane, it was 4. I'm not sure if there're more things wrong, I don't remember the charting of all the songs, but probably yes.
i could say still life released last year out last all BTS songs in term of peak uls for the last 2 years really proved BB superior in digital.
BTS is very good at digital, but they are not the same level as IU and BB.

The biggest jumps are on weekends, it's not weird the gap between PN and Drama is not changing that much these days but on weekend it will change a lot, actually looking at how it's going it wouldn't surprise me if this same weekend Drama hits #1 at least in the top 100 chart.
The "soon" discussion guys lol, just ask the other user what they mean with it if you have doubts, "soon" can mean some days too.
Gods is rising more than I expected and for several days so this weekend is going to be important for it too. In Youtube it's already top 3 and if it doesn't stop it will probably top it next week since it's rising more than Drama and PN. It's surprising ofc, but I talked about how something like this could happen since it was released so let me brag a bit (watch it stopping the rise tomorrow)
Dean's song falling, nowadays you need promo, the song is not bad and Korea used to like that kind of music a lot.
is pn got removed from 4 week chart this weekend? i expect the uls peak on friday and then drop over the weekend. drama may got no1

it's always the same
we don't like
you are banned
no you are banned
but then suddenly either label needs those music show wins
or music show needs an artists from label to get more views
and here we are
definitely not from the label. mbc losing hybe is a big loss. hybe is too big to care about. they have other channels, other markets includes us, japan, some other south east asian markets. hybe never actually care about mbc while their artists so busy with other shows, events, ….
-
the actor case is same, and also prosecutors and police said that it might be 'hard to proof' because actors and Idols are bleaching their hair
like wtf xD
so they've basically accused multiple people without any proff and now are saying it might be hard to get evidence
some people in Korea are saying that this scandal emerged to hide bad presidential term of current SK president (Seoul flood, Itaewon tragedy etc.)
not to defend but b.i from ikon the same case. test negative due to bleaching, time past … but it does not meant he did not use the drug.

with JK released on July, does it mean nj wont get the goan award this month right
