LSG is at almost 890m now so it is definitely crossing the 900m in june, that would put BP as the only gg with 2 songs crossing it and since cmb is in either june or july, and I definitely see it getting a push that could lead it to cross the 1b points too, for now it has stabilized in the 130s in Melon and not slowing down in uls either, in Genie it manages to chart in the weekly top 100 and Gaon keeps gaining around 2.7m per week.

I am surprised Heize didn't got the platinum streaming certification, Happen is at almost 650m now, its definitely getting it next update though.

lsg is still in genie top 100?? but its been out of the daily 100 chart for months now..

still life down to 4 on genie, and gonna drop to 4 on melon soon too imo

the only real 2 biggest soty this year are the melomance song and tomboy imo.. love dive is a very nice hit but i dont think it stands against these two and still life imo will continue to have relatively mediocre longevity (similar to flower road sort of).. that that could be a contender though.. lets see altho i still hate the song since its just so memey and i think it wont hold too much longevity in the long run either

How many weeks did dynamite spend in top 10?

LYWs song is still in top 10. Unless melon uls in top 10 starts rising again it looks like it can stay there forever basically as it never wavers from 230k ul really.

36, so pretty far for the lyw song tbf... but also i think the lyw song feels like more than 20 weeks because it actually released a while back and rose, its been 28 weeks since it was released and if it spent its entire run in the top 10 it would be one of the longest running (it still is kinda tbf)

I didnt even know it was possible to view that data on guysome. I doubt there is anyone tracking hours outside of them for all artists, so only way would probably be to scrape all their data and calculate it yourself.

IMO not counting the zombie hours is the correct way to count, otherwise idol/big fandoms will have an advantage.

Cant you just compare the hours on guysome against whatever act you want to compare against?

    pasted-from-clipboard.png

yep you can at the top of the page of any song like this shows peak position weeks at no 1, hours in top 3/5/10/50/100 etc.

also they don't count the zombie hours specifically but more so the period between 1 am to 7 am is considered as 6 distinct hour periods (so whatever song that is number 1 at 1 am when it freezes, will be number one for the next 6 hours until 7 am when they unfreeze again)

i just wanted to compare data to older songs because guysome doesn't have that data but i found out you can find it out on the genie app so

does anyone know how to find the hours spent in the top 5 of genie.. on guysome all the songs hours are counted without the 1-7am hours, but all the chart accounts and records etc. are set with the 1-7am counted.. any help would be appreciated lol

If consumption is not = popularity, are you asserting that Koreans are heavily consuming what is unpopular? That would be illogical, isn't it?

that would have us assume that all the consumption is equally distributed for all songs, meaning that for example, songs always reach a peak and then fall from that peak in 20 days. we would then be able to compare the 20 day fall-off for every single song and thus be able to tell the most consumed song/act

that isn't the case though, because acts can always reach a peak of 10k listeners who stream the song 100 times a day, and 100k listeners who stream the song 10x a day.. same consumption, different listeners, landscape and fan dedication.. would you consider those two the same?

in a way your statement is correct, in that non fan koreans will always consume less than fans do, because they don't feel the need to dedicate streams for a song every single hour to reach higher stream and realtime ULs, and so the way your chart calculates consumption, it will always be higher for the fan streamed song.. that doesn't mean it suddenly has become the most popular act because they are still the same 10k people streaming the song, and they will continue to do so until their faves comeback again or lose traction overall

i know this is true but this chart is so dependant on release timing, so songs released in the last week of the month/first week of the month have the best chance at topping it by far.. especially if you look at the top 3/top 5 you'll find proportionally WAY more kpop songs

manually counting i found 27 idol grp / idol soloist entries from 2018 in the top 5 melon monthly (counting repeats ofc) out of the 60 possible entries of the top 5 in 12 months.. thats almost half and conveys a better sense of idol group hit power imo

That RV song has no business charting that good, man. I feel like it benefited from being top3 at the time when Tomboy and Still Life are charting and it is really pushing it's ULs up because it is next on the list. Imo this "co charting" needs to be really investigated, it's impact is pretty big.

The reason I think so is because the song has abysmal numbers on YouTube compared to all the other songs. Even My Bag is doing better numbers.

    say that again without crying

What do you mean with 'revitalize'?

Do you mean the other songs wouldn't have gotten the ULs they got without those 3 songs? And why those 3 songs, and not others?

That would mean that every time an IU song did great, the chart would be revitalized again, but is there proof of that?

i think they mean to an extent the general listeners have increased after tomboy ganadara and the bb song, especially when you compare it to jan/feb of this year..

essentially a big song with more ULs will also garner listeners for other songs thus increasing the general threshold at which the top 10 top 5 top 3 etc. stays at.. its why when a big song is released it doesn't detract from all the other songs unique listeners but instead adds to them because that big song's listeners may also want to listen to other new releases (which they may not have checked out if not for the original big song)

of course this is also true for feel my rhythm to a certain extent (its true for pretty much any song especially in the top 10) but probably of lesser effect than the songs he mentioned.. again this doesn't take away from fmrs achievements because to garner ULs and to keep them at a stable increasing pace r two different things (the latter obviously means the people checking out the song actually like it)

2018 numbers need to be caveated with it only being data from October-December, it's why I took it out of other numbers as not as representative.

With LYW he could knock out some long standing songs outside of the top 100. Boy with Luv has been in the 90s for the last few days it feels like so if it's still there around when he drops may fall out.

update bwl alrdy left the top 100 (at least according to the 24 hits chart), so i dont think it will be able to come back especially after lyw release rip.. still an amazing run

what?? blackpink has been dominating digitals since their debut they were the top in 2018 too and released 3 massive songs from 2016-2017 lol

bts songs dont chart in the top 20 either so where does that leave us..

its so obvious by now that blackpink will always have a number 1/2 hit whenever they release because the public genuinely looks forward to their every song and i dont think admitting to this fact suddenly downgrades IU or BTS like??

didnt dun dun dance take a long while to chart in the top 10 too? i dont think we can base omgs charting just based on a few days, itll take a while to see how much it rises

Fmr has already beaten invu ul peak on melon iirc.

i just checked and hourly wise (idrk for daily) invu peak was 341k and fmr is at 339k (just peaked like a few mins ago lol) not that i dont think fmr will beat it, because atp its pretty confident to say that..

also its sort of weird but r there just less listeners in general in the months of jan and feb?? or are the songs bigger cuz i dont rlly get it that much

okay so the dream cb is a bit boring (its not even that noisy and it lacks a chorus imo) so i dont think it can be a hit, and im so sorry but the omg song is soo boring?? like it genuinely moved away from their catchy fun dance tracks that were their last 4-5 titles... idk its omg so they might end up charting well anyways but this song is not what i expected especially the chorus is so underwhelming

also fmr still rising in ULs we love to see it <3 i hope it reaches 400k and stays in the top 10 for a while lol
