GGs are capturing the attention of the public and BGs are successful amongst fangirls, same as always really

something felt off about all 6 of these covers for me idk... either the group doing the cover didn't deliver on the concept, or the song itself wasn't iconic enough. Take Hyolyn's performance, she slayed and served but it still felt like something was missing because the song felt random, almost incidental.
And I love Viviz but their rendition of Unnatural really highlighted the importance of having different vocal ranges in a group. Every member sang so high pitched it became monotonous and grating by the end of the song

every member is seriously pretty, but with every batch of teasers it becomes increasingly unclear what the concept is

"media play" is the most mis-used and non-sensical insult in kpop lol, of course companies are gonna hype up their acts and release articles, that's part of the point of having a company

imo kpop has always been "experimental" starting with the 1st gen and thats what made it popular among korea's youth. From the beginning kpop idols were trying hairstyles, fashion, and sounds that seemed "wild" to the general public and older generations before becoming trendy then ultimately accepted.

so satisfied with Yunjin getting to debut in a non-nugu group, out of all trainees I think pd48 failed to show her talent the most, but she really has everything to be an idol I mean she has the talent, the singing and dancing skills, the looks, the personality. When I heard she may be joining Source/Hybe's new gg I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I'm very happy the rumors were true.
*small side note, I think arched eyebrows would do her wonders lol

I'm not too impressed with Source's concept direction, it seems they taking trendy fashion pieces like Prada and Mugler bodysuits making a concept out of that, their "casting call" video also did the whole runway model concept but we all saw how that backfired and ended up just coming off sleazy.
however I think with Sakura, Chaewon, and Yunjin in the line up Source hit the jackpot, at this point if Source can do two things: 1) release good music 2) keep Garam scandal under control, they have the recipe for success.

she's wearing a bow in her hair but it looks like cat ears

I think it's fair to say these GGs are the most popular at the moment without comparing them to other groups which only invites fandom discord

Do you realize the people there will be too drunk or stoned to even realize if the ones singing are kpop, jpop or cpop? It's only kpop stans online paying close attention tbh nobody outside the fandom cares if an artist sing live or not, plenty of western acts lipsync there. This is not the Olympics lmao
whether not the live audience notices lipsync or not is besides the point, it's nonetheless emberassing and considering the whole show is being streamed people online will certainly pick up on it.
also, it's really besides the point, whether 1 person notice or 1 million people notice, lip sync is not something to endorse

there are many I could mention but recently Ahn Yujin is so relentless on stage, mark my words she will shine brightly in kpop for a long time

I know OP is just trying to drum up drama with the BTS comment, but fr I don't think coachella has even claimed to be a music festival that represents the tastes of the American general public... their lineup has always been a mix of popular headliners that raise attendance plus some underrated artists who can hopefully get some exposure from the event

all the replies are acting confused about how pretty shoulders can be a thing, but i see it... it's like how people praise broad shoulders for a guy, if a girl has thin and upright shoulders it shows good posture and looks elegant

None of my family members are fans of kpop but my mom went to a BP concert with me and enjoyed it
