The people on that site (well, otakus/weebs in general from my experience have issues with Korean things) have complexes against not only bts and kpop but anything Korean related LOL To put it simple, their typical triggered weebs and have been stuck in the hate Korean content matrix for so long (years mind you) that they’re even in denial about bts outbeating Japan’s local acts that they have to make things up to justify why they’re dominating Japanese charts. That site is so damn dead I’ve seen the same people on there with the same profile pictures and names who made comments back in 2014, the user Ronald, to be specific :pepe-hehe:

Wanting a multinational group = xenophobic

Yeah that makes sense, wanting literal diversity amongst nationalities is prejudice towards nationalities :clown: :clown: Some of y’all got the last 2 brain cells in your heads battling it out to the death

Just say you want an all K-group and are biased towards the K-girls & go. If you can’t find at least 2-3 foreigners to like when you have 7+ K-faves, then that’s suspect

Nobody said anything about wanting an all K group. That’s not even realistic lol It’s just the obvious divide by nationality some fans of the show want by making these weird threads and their biased favoritism of certain contestants because of their nationality.

I give zero fucks about what girls are in what groups.. I see talented trainees like bora and youngeun in danger, I vote for them

you all should stop judging by nationalities and just vote for the girl that you think deserves better, it can be J/C/K does not matter... vote for a girl in mind not a nationality/group in mind

They’re really making this all about nationality but say knetz are xenophobic. It’s obvious, some people in this thread believe the foreign contestants are superior in every way to the Korean ones lol I’ve even seen people bashing K group’s looks to uplift C group’s online in the O.O.O performances LOL And yes, my girl youngeun is probably in danger right now and she needs to debut as she’s an ace. I’ll be damned if she gets replaced with a foreign trainee that was overhyped throughout the entire show all for the sake of diversity when even vocalists like Bora is hanging by a thread.

Tbh, I can’t see this group getting big despite clips of the show being aired on multiple Japanese tv programs. The way they’re being trained doesn’t resonate well with Japanese idol fans lol Japanese fans like to see idols grow over time but these girls were trained rigorously like kpop trainees not making it much different from any other Korean idol survival show. Viewers can’t relate with them either. The teacher is also being too harsh on them and I’ve seen jnetz make complaints online (they’re literally calling her a demon coach). FNC is not even a large company in Korea which means they have even less of a presence in Japan. Sorry, but they’re going to be flopping. So Japanese withu’s shouldn’t be worried about anything honestly because niziu is way more relatable and has a girl next door cutsey image which Japan loves while girl crush nobody really cares for, especially the men. Is FNC that desperate for money? Heck I think even more people are watching mbc’s my teenage girl which also has underage contestants despite little to no buzz about the show :pepestare:

I mean nobody in the thread and not even the op specifically said that it was popular Japanese pop acts that were following kpop, so the argument still stands in a way regardless if there is Korean involvement. Kpop is niche in Japan so it’s to be expected why jkpop groups aren’t that popular to the Japanese gp or even Japanese idol fans to begin with lol Like I said before, Japanese dance practice videos weren’t much of a thing so even if you post a few by some groups and artists doesn’t mean that it was a common trend. For every Japanese dance practice you post, I can post 5-10. Dance practice videos are a standard when it comes to majority of Korean pop acts as choreography is highlighted, prioritized, and highly focused on. It’s as simple as that.

Are you not seeing how Japan is literally making their own Produce series? Collabing with Korean enterainment companpies to make other survival shows? That's literally why NiziU exists. Dance practices are becoming a thing. J-pop groups are performing on M!Countdown and K-Con. Do I need to go on??

It’s the being in denial for me with some jpop fans lol Like damn near every idol survival show maybe besides THE FIRST by SKI-HI in Japan had something to do with a Korean company being involved: Niziu, produce Japan, G-EGG, ldh’s upcoming show, who is princess which means that they AGREED for the collaboration allowing the Korean side to take care of things which is molding the groups to mimic theirs in mv production, music style, wardrobe, makeup, brand deals, promotion tactics, and etc. Like bruh. And now we’re seeing them perform

on Korean music shows and platforms again because they kind of stopped years ago. Professional filmed dance practices also weren’t much of a thing for jpop acts either. It’s clear they’re trying to follow the method and strategies as they’re always making kpop/hallyu analysis segments on Japanese tv programs a few times a year if you watch Japanese television :eyes:

I mean even if they are now, they’re way too behind to catch up with the international presence and achievements of kpop acts. And yes, there are Japanese companies that want to target overseas but fail to due to lack of infrastructure and sound of music not appealing to foreigners. This is honestly why some of them are collaborating with Korean companies (this is going to happen way more often, especially next year) like Ldh teaming up with hybe to produce and promote their girl group and Suga producing two songs on Hiroomi’s new album which is attracting way more attention than it would be simply because Suga’s name was mentioned lol I mean the guy isn’t even trending himself on twitter as there’s only praise and anticipation for the songs Suga produced (#ProducerSuga)…

Who cares about international appeal. Aespa’s a Korean girl group first and foremost and they’re KILLING it in Korea. So I could care less if their spotify streams aren’t up to par with groups who can’t even chart top 70 on melon.

When are kpoppies going to realize by now that Korea equals longevity for these groups lmao? Who tf abroad is really going to be supporting their careers when they’re in their 30’s and beyond? They just debuted and we have these troll threads with questions asking too much for a less than a year group :pepe-clown-gear:

I think their concept appeals to those teenage fanboy. Also the video game and futuristic elements are fresh. The title tracks by Aespa didn't remind me of the any 2nd generation song at all. From the album Aenergy and Yeppi Yeppi are just were inspired a little bit old music but their title track always more electronic hiphop heavy. Maybe because it is a balanced group, I don't think there is a dominant member that stands out, they are balanced in terms of talent.

I believe the largest demographic who are interested in them are female in Korea.

    3. [+323, -5] No matter how exceptional they think Lalisa is, what if she didn't have her amazing producers or her stylists? And if she wasn't even with YG, she never would've made it this far. Who produced her music video? Who made her this big with her solo? Inside the brains of her fans, they think she was like this from the start.

    okay-youre-right.gif

I went to knetizen to read the comments over there from the users about the situation and they kind of have a point. They were spilling LOL

BLACKPINK’s Lisa fans want her to leave YG after her absence from Paris Fashion Week – Knetizen

Honest to god, it’s Lisa’s thai and SEA fans who are tarnishing her image in Korea lol They victimize Lisa and themselves in every scenario causing knetz to start hating on her despite believing she’s talented when there are actual kpop idols, more than likely Korean, being physically mistreated. I’d be embarrassed and annoyed if I had those types of fans myself. Not to mention how international kpoppies believe they’re superior to knetz in every way possible based off cherry picked online comments and difference in overall mentality regarding certain topics (it’s conservative mindsets vs liberal 99% of the time). And it’s kind of a fact that YGE made her into what she is today and she benefits greatly from their connections. If she leaves the company, there are chances she won’t succeed like how you all think she will. Some of y’all need to sit this one out and not make a peep :pepe-clown-gear:

Some Jpop fans are in denial. But even though sales are high because there are so many versions, that doesn't explain why concert tours are sold out instantly. BTS is especially popular among the younger generation in Japan. However, they are still not very well-known among GPs, this is because older people prefer to watch TV more, and BTS is generally less well-known in GP because they are not in Japan and do not participate in various Japanese shows. That's why Johnny's groups still have such a huge fanbase.

Yeah in order to be very well known among the gp in Japan you have to constantly be shown on tv and many Japanese people grew up watching shows with numerous Johnny’s acts , even the older generation, so that makes sense. A lot of kpop acts don’t seem to be either invited on the shows Johnny’s dominate or maybe their contract doesn’t include them for promotion (there’s also some form of Johnny’s blocking). It’s just that I see them boys featured on popular Japanese news programs like a few times every week as if they’re an actual Japanese act lol

They were popular once. But they have been on the decline, especially in the last five years. Their new groups didn't have much success either. Some very popular members got married. The group and its sibling groups can't even sell 100K anymore. In fact, the main strength of the group was tours, but since the pandemic started, I can say that they lost more blood since they could not do this. Actually they and Johnny's groups have lost a good porsion of their fans to BTS. I think the collaboration between Hiromi and Suga is part of the business deal. HYBE will be promoting his new girl group, and Suga will be producing Hiromi's new song. Looks like a good business deal.

Damn Korean ggs with way fewer members are selling better than that these days 🤔 I keep hearing jpop fans say how bts isn’t all that popular in Japan but they’re constantly topping their charts, have endless media coverage, and you just confirmed how the top acts for years are losing out to them so….
