I don't just prefer texting, I insist on texting. If I text you and you call me to follow up, I will ignore your call.

Ma’Khia Bryan <-- Once she phoned POLICE , she should *stayed* (or gone back) *inside* her RESIDENCE ... Instead , she was OUTSIDE , in confrontational close proximity to others , with a WEAPON (KNIFE) ... NOT saying that POLICE did everything correctly or not either ... Legally , Ma’Khia Bryan was doing something (the confrontation , with a weapon) , that she did NOT need to be doing it (unfortunately) ... For me , *4 Shots* (Bullets) seems a *lot* in this situation by POLICE ... But likely , *within* POLICE acceptable job practices , would be my *guess* on it.

The police were not coming, her window was smashed in. She did what she could in an attempt to scare off the attackers, and they were not scared off but jumped her instead.

She made a bad decision, yes, but its pretty clear she had no intent to stab ANYONE until she felt the need to brandish and use a weapon in self defence. The system failed her.

I am by no means saying this has anything to do with race, the police department that ignored her callout could not possibly have known her skin colour over the phone, but it is possible that 1) the police ignored her call because of the neighbourhood she lived in, or 2) her voice/accent was a giveaway of her ethnicity and thus they chose to ignore it. But, to the police officer who did happen to drive by the scene, all he could see was a young girl brandishing a weapon on another person.

To him, I hold a mixed responsibility. I am not sure why he opted to shoot, when the procedure is to tase and attempt de-escalation, but he could have been panicking, knowing he had to act quickly or potentially see a life taken.

This is not a cookie cutter case, unfortunately. Alongside systemic failure in response to a callout, a police officer acted as the judge and ended a (legally) innocent life. But to immediately brush this off as a closed case because a 15y old girl had a knife and in the bodycam footage she is stabbing someone, is EXACTLY the line that the police department are trying to push. Given we know the lengths that the police department have gone to cover up institutional discrimination against PoC, and women (an MI police department for example had ignored 1400 rape kits, which could have led to convictions of rapists), it seems weird that so many people are just accepting the PD's line. There is no excuse not to be nuanced in 2021.

And of course, in the case of superyeah, it is never too late to understand that maybe there was something you missed, and I totally welcome that dialogue between us! Thanks ~

It should never have escalated to her having to feel like she needs to stab someone in self defence. Ma’Khia Bryan was on her own property when the incident occurred, the person she almost stabbed was on Ma’Khia Bryan's property, with a gang, threatening to attack her (and also armed).

Ma’Khia Bryan, the girl who got shot, is the one who called the police before the incident, and the police ignored her callout. Whilst her callout was ignored, the group continued to destroy her property, call out to her, and threaten to harm her family. Eventually, knowing the police weren't coming, she brandished a knife in an attempt to scare off the attackers. It didn't work, and instead of being scared off, a girl (the one she was on top of) jumped on her first.

Yes, the police footage shows Ma’Khia Bryan attacking someone with a knife, and the police officer responding with gunfire, but the house CCTV footage shows a girl who has been forced to protect herself, her property, and her family, with a knife, because the police ignored her call.

Not only that, but damn, he could have used a taser. Police Officers are still not judge, jury, and executioner. They are absolutely trained in de-escalation.

I find it shocking that police officers (in America and abroad) can stop people brandishing and USING machetes, without any gunfire, but a 15 year old girl couldn't be stopped? The whole case reeks of police incompetence. From ignoring a callout, to not using their training in de-escalation and resorting to shooting.

Chinese Democracy is better for China than American Democracy would ever be. As the Worlds largest democracy, I am sure the CPC has learnt a little about how democracy works.

President Xi speaks at BFA on behalf of China

The BFA (formerly called the Boao Forum For Asia) is a group consisting of 25 Asian Countries + Australia, that focuses on issues of Government, economics, business and education within the region. Leaders/Ministers of the countries gather every year to discuss issues effecting the region, and every year, China brings with it a new focus that it feels the continent needs to address. For example, in 2015, China invited World Leaders from African Nations to encourage Asian Countries + Australia to tackle issues related to racism against Black People. The country also regularly makes a segment to discuss mitigation of climate change, and how Asian countries can contribute to preventing a disastrous fallout from Global Warming.

    In 2021, China's theme was Economic Cooperation and Integration. Once again, China invited countries from around the World (outside of Asia), as President Xi delivered a keynote speech. The Speech was titled "Pulling Together Through Adversity and Toward a Shared Future for All". Xi took the speech to promote several ideas that China will be supporting;

    • The World should follow the UN-centred System, as the UN is currently the best representative of all nations in the World. Countries like the USA should commit to following UN Laws, preserving international order, upholding free and fair trade, and partaking in multilateralism.
    • Developed countries should take responsibility when failing to fairly deal with injustice.
    • Medicine should be readily available to all countries, especially in a Covid-Centric World, with little cost, to ensure the Worlds population can remain healthy. China has exported 166m coronavirus doses for free to other countries around the World. The US has exported zero free vaccines, but has charged and exported 3m vaccines to its allies.
    • Countries should cooperate with the WHO to promote a healthy society.
    • Countries need to make larger commitments in line with the Paris Agreement, to better mitigate climate change. China has committed to being carbon balanced by 2030, far ahead of any other country in the world. With complete net zero emissions by 2060.
    • China strictly opposes the Cold War mentality that America is trying to start, and sees diversity as humanities biggest strength.
    • China will focus and encourage more nations to join and benefit from the BRI (Belt and Road Initiative), reminding the World that it is a public railway, which any country can take part in.
    • China will focus on encouraging health cooperation with its Asian peers. As of now, China is partaking in joint vaccine programs with Indonesia, Brazil, the UAE, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Turkey through the BRI.
    • China will focus on encouraging green cooperation through the BRI, and since 2019 has launched two initiatives aimed with ensuring the BRI program is environmentally friendly, and makes going green cheaper to countries that join the BRI. These are the BRI International Green Development Coalition, and the Green Investment Principles for Belt and Road Development.
    • China will focus on encouraging poverty alleviation in countries around the World. The World Bank has released a report suggesting that by 2030, China will be able to assist in living 7.6 million people from extreme poverty in countries outside of China, by creating jobs through the BRI, and also indirectly lift 32m people from moderate poverty across the World. In December 2020, China became the first country in the World to completely eradicate poverty across its entire population, granting free housing, food allowances, healthcare, education, and public transport to every single citizen in China that previously lived in poverty.

Communist Party of China (CPC) hits 100 Years Old

In 2021, the CPC will celebrate 100 years since its formation. China has two major Government houses, as well as multiple Political Advisory Bodies. Currently, the CPC is elected to rule China through the "United Front System". The electoral system could be more closely compared to the Soviet Democracy, that existed in the Soviet Union during its tenure. This is that, instead of voting for a political party, people actually vote for movements that they feel represents them. These are known as their local representatives, their job is to represent the region on a local level, whilst the local representative chooses how the region deserves to be represented on a National Level.

China is the Worlds largest democracy, and as President Xi said in 2019: "People's democracy is the life of socialism. Without democracy, there will be no socialism, no socialist modernization, no great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.", democracy remains very important for China. The CPC contains a majority of the Governments seats, and could rule alone as a single party, but instead decides to rule as a Coalition, spreading power equally across the other major political parties in China, as well as independents. Furthermore, citizens are regularly encouraged to partake in politics through the CPPCC, or the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Created by the CPC, the Conference aims to gather opinions from all areas of society, and contains participants from the Chinese Youth League, Women's Federation, the Sector of Ethnic Minorites, and many more human rights groups. Much like the Central Government, issues in the CPPCC can be voted on. The CPC has no power here, and what the general population votes on in the CPPCC, must be acted on by the Government. It was the CPPCC that forced the Central Government to focus on poverty alleviation across the country. A Uyghur representative from Xinjiang also mandated that the Government allowed Xinjiang to teach in its local language (which it now does), the Chinese Islamic Council successfully passed a motion mandating halal meals across all Chinese planes, and that all public schools and Universities must serve halal food.

President Xi remains proud of the Work of the CPC, and to celebrate its 100th Anniversary, received comments from leaders around the World, congratulating the CPC on how they have managed to make over 90% of the population, love the Government, the most supported Government in the World.

    Nations Congratulating China;

    • Argentinian Party Leader celebrated the CPC's successes, stating that they are "extraordinary successes made with sacrifice"
    • Former Brazilian President congratulated how the CPC has ensured extensive public participation in politics, economic growth and human right advancement
    • A Finnish Party Chief congratulated the CPC for always facing any challenge with motivation, and enthusiasm.
    • The Iranian Government congratulated the way in which the CPC adapted Marxist Doctrine to support China
    • The Ugandan Government stated that the Chinese model of engagement with issues in Africa and African Countries are genuine, made with real mission to improve the continent
    • The former Nigerian Foreign Minister highlighted the countries close ties, and thanked China for its unending support on helping the nation.
    • The Moroccan Government noted on key achievements by the CPC, and remarked on the countries determination for the wellbeing of its people
    • The Egyptian Government said that the CPC is a model of the true embodiment of peoples aspirations.
    • A Kenyan Party Leader says the countries Government has a lot to learn from the CPC
    • The Ethiopian Government stated that the CPC serves as the best example of a World Government performing miracles
    • The Pakistani Government remarked that every country needs a leader as devoted to its peoples wellbeing, as the CPC.

I have been lurking for a long time but I created this thread just to say how happy I am to see something like this here. The Western Sinophobia that they disguise with conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory has gone on for far too long, and is the biggest contributor of Anti-Asian rhetoric today.

It's time we stop letting the US fabricate atrocities in countries it doesn't like (Incubator Babies in Kuwait, WMDs in Iraq), just as an excuse to further fund the Worlds most violent military.
