I agree with what you're saying about giving the benefit of the doubt, but the "what the singers said" is probably the weakest defense, because in that case Whiplash is definitely about being whipped to be better.

This definitely shouldn't be taken against the girls, they didn't write the lyrics for Cookie but man MHJ really deserves a side-eye. Again, I don't think NJ deserves any backlash for this, just MHJ (I havent stopped playing hypeboy and attention tho)

I understand the "Korean lyrics aren't that sexual" argument, and I can't speak on that since I'm not fluent, but that's naive at best because you, me, and everyone else knows this group isn't marketed for just the Korean audience.

Again this shouldn't be used to attack NewJeans, a lot of other k-pop labels are guilty of doing this, Yeri was a minor w ICC, JYPEs sleezy stuff, and YG kinda self-explanatory, the whole way Busters was run etc etc.

And Weeekly imo is doing young concepts right, like even with Zig-Zag when they could've gone the route of school uniforms with skirts, they wore shorts instead.
