Display MoreKorea is 99% korean, that’s the extent SK does demographics. Next highest would be asian foreigns (just guessing here), then we’d get into white/black foreigns.
The US is 5% asian and actually has a decent asian community. Meaning there is a REASON they should be in US media (tho they often aren’t). So a lot of fans see kpop as a way of increasing asians in US media where they have been historically ignored.
Now has non-koreans been ignored in Korean media? No, because there aren’t that many to ignore. It makes sense why there aren’t many because there isn’t really white/black communities in SK or atleast not at a noticeable level. You see a white/black person in SK, you 100% think they are foreign born.
In america, Asians are born here and have their own communities.
Basically asians being in US media isn’t much different than the current US system where is many races all together. But a random black girl in a kpop group where blacks make up probably less that .1% of koreans looks a bit FORCED.
Why is this foreigner trying to participate in this phenomenon that is giving asians a platform, when she could be in the US where blacks are OVER represented in the music industry and she’d probably have an easier time?
Now has non-Koreans been ignored in Korean media? -- black ppl r perpetrated bad in Korea
dont say ''blacks''
how does it look "forced
the same reason all of the other foreigners wanted to join kpop, they liked singing/ rapping they saw it and liked it and wanted to be apart of it her earning a spot in kpop just like everyone else. its racism to not want her to be in kpop cause she isnt asian.''

1% of Koreans looks a bit FORCED.'' its hypocrite to want non Americans to make it into the american music industry but not want non Asians to make it in the Korean music industry. when u r talking about Asians u r talking about Asian AMERICANS not non american.
