I'm not sure why people keep bringing this issue here again and again. Majority of us on here are i-fans.There's nothing we can do right now except wait for JTBC to make another statement. Even Twitter blinks/kdrama stans are just quiet bc our hands are tied. Nothing is going to come of posting repetitive Snowdrop threads except the same arguments being had over and over for the last two days.
This isn't even a kpop issue yet this thread is in the K-Lounge. There is a separate kdrama section lol
Maybe bc gathering more than 100k signatures in 2 days for the cancellation of a drama is quite a big issue ? It’s a public forum even if we are not Korean we can discuss on the topic ?

Over 111K Knetz have signed the petition to cancel snowdrop in just 2 days... They only need 89K more (in max 28 days) in order to have the Blue house examine the topic.

Will JTBC will give a new statement? Maybe the writers or the director will talk. Either way it’s a mess... the PR department might be under a lot of pressure, especially bc the first statement wasn’t received well by Knetz

You know what, i would let you to continue to fume over a drama that hasn't even aired yet.
You speak like you have seen the entirety of the drama and it was just soo aweful and a great injustice to the democracy of SK. And that Jisoo played nothing but a love smitten girl in the whole of the series.

But I am not fuming. And I didn’t say she will only show this aspect. The synopsis, the leaked photo of the set are showing the romance part. I just said that the love romance as nothing to do with the real life of Young Cho, so if they are not following her real life why they choose to use her name?

You’re very naive to think that Young cho and Soo ho will have a happy relationship. A fictional Relationship who has zero link with the real Young Cho story

But why adding something that has nothing to do with Young cho life?
In this case, don’t use her real name and it will be perfectly fine. I don’t want the drama to be cancelled or anything I just don’t understand why they are using Young cho name if they are not following her real life, which is really really interesting. Her character don’t need to be in a love triangle when she was married and her husband was tortured and captured and unfortunately died.

What assumption ?? It is based on the official characters description. The drama will have a love triangle between Jisoo character, Kim hye noon and the male lead.
And the things is the real Young cho was already married when she was in college. So why include something that never happened in her life ?

Honestly I am like waiting for the drama to air to have a proper opinion on this. But named Jisoo character the same as such an important figure, just for her to be in love story, where two women will fight again for the attention of a man is quite disrespectful. Her name deserve way better. Either they follow the real story of Young cho, either they change the name of the character.

they offered them a contract before even debuting, its simple they see a potential. it would be dumb of them to sign them just for 'K-pop clout' or expecting them to have a 'selling-power' already when they are just about to debut, they could've easily picked any 4th gen groups who already established themselves or is more 'relevant' to give them that 'Kpop clout' they want since its Givenchy after all. You've literally just seen the girls in those 4 outfits but why are you acting like they had worn all of their collection and say it doesn't fit their fashion??
Lol yeah bc every Korean companies can contact Givenchy and can propose them a deal. See, that’s why we are saying it’s due to Big 3 privilege, big 3 connections. And it’s due to connections in fashion that Sm developed for years. So Before debuting SM was planning to associate Aespa with a fashion brand. If Givenchy refused they would have reach another fashion house with ease.
That’s why I said that it doesn’t seems genuine.
It’s not a critic against the girls but it just show how much SM have connections. Sm could at least try to do it like Yg and let the girls working with different brands so they can create a real relationship with a fashion house, show if they fit the values of the house, the image and also if they can boost the sales and have impact in fashion etc. After that they can become global ambassador.

Yes, because it makes sense to compare a YouTube channel created when BP have a way bigger fanbase, that was promoted on Jennie’s IG on her birthday, a channel that was created years ago and that Lisa doesn’t even promote and just randomly uploads videos on occasionally. Lisa has way more IG followers, does that mean she is way more popular than Jennie?

Don’t say Lisa didn’t even promote bc she did the same as Jennie. She posted a post about her video, and put links in her story when she drop new video. Also, this collab don’t even seems genuine. It’s like Givenchy want some Kpop clout, but what are aespa selling power, impact in fashion? They debuted some months ago, they still don’t have relevancy in their own Country or in Asia. Their fashion don’t even fit the brand, and it was proven when they wore some Givenchy clothes in a red carpet. It was a total mess, and you would be hypocrite if you say otherwise

If you know SM you know the solos go to the lead vocalist first.. super junior KRY snsd taeyeon seohyun tiffany etc.
Same with exo (besides lay but chinese market) baekhyun chen suho.

Well it’s not SM or Kai fault if DO decided to enlist sooner. He probably would have his solo album before and also before enlisting he was busy with is acclaimed actor career. He his working now on his album.
For Xiumin he was the first one to enlist so he didn’t have the opportunity to have a album. But he got ost and some collabs.
And in term of music content Kai didn’t have the opportunity to show something. He didn’t have SM station or OST or collab like the other did. So his first mini album after 8 years after debuting is not chocking and HE DESERVE ! So stop being shady
