Their drop off confuses me cause unlike with most other groups I can't seem to pinpoint the exact reason. That whole pre-release stuff with Kitsch & the meh reception it got plus their attempts to break the Western market so early were probably contributing factors. They got a bit lucky with I AM but even then it's a great song & concept compared to what they've been releasing lately....it's probably just a quality thing. They can bounce back with the right song but this industry moves quick

How are aespa & 5050 remotely comparable when one was a group with an established following and the other wasn't....fifty fifty were always going to fall off that scandal just exacerbated their downfall

NewJeans will be fine but the quality will likely severely diminish. It's like when LSM left and although aespa's output since then has been pretty good alot of it hasn't reached Next Level/Savage quality for that reason. If HYBE tries that pushing towards the West strategy theyve done with all their artists they'll likely fall off a bit because not doing that was a big part of their appeal. But anyway if we should really be worrying about anything it's how the members are doing, those kids are YOUNG and this is a less than ideal situation to be put in

tbh if Somi is anything to go by I don't know if they'll be the smash hit group everyone is anticipating but I'll check them out

NewJeans are not getting dethroned in the near future, accept it now so you won't have to be disappointed every time a new group debuts

Yeah this place is a ghost town lol that decision is completely understandable. Idek where half the actual staff are apart from Ves who occasionally comments in threads and is apparently a mod or something again. Hope with you back we'll at least have some interesting troll or discussion threads

You have a point with more emphasis on hard-hitting performances and choreo though and I'd argue they brought teen crush to the forefront of KPOP for a while

I agree with the user above though that SM has lost all original ideas after LSM left. aespa's main selling point was their KWANGYA stuff & unique instrumentals and they both left with the departure of LSM & YYJ. Even if the concept was inspired by K/DA or the like he at least added his own unique spin with SMCU and those episodes, but as much as I love songs like Spicy & Better Things, they could go to any group with great vocals realistically. Drama was a return to form but the album itself is a bit meh and not cohesive.

RIIZE's concept is just 'male New Jeans', once people move on from NJ or NJ tries a different concept it's gonna be over for them. No creativity or originality whatsoever.
