They take the extreme's out of both sides. Rookie is so insanely stupid but it is such A BOP. The dance, the set design, the outfits, the chants... it just screams CAMP. i freaking love it. i HATED it at first but it is a masterpiece. And i know most people in this forum hate the song, but they're wrong, they could never distinguish what is art and what is trash. THIS is art! Automatic is like falling into a dream and the verses and chorus just melt into each other and the harmonies are at their best. The concept of this 90's vampire slayer vibes resonates with me. I know they'll most likely never make a song like this, but whenever i play it, i just completely enjoy every second of it.
i'm a hardcore stan of both. Just shows to me that sometimes i'm almost brainwashed into liking a song cause i'm biased.
It's not that it's bad but I kinda feel the same. I listen to it A LOT because of many great moments and I am enjoying it but can't say I love the song because the song itself does nothing to me. How can I enjoy a song so much but not love the song? idk.
I think it's like spending hours watching random impressive videos of vocal showcase and dance videos more than listening to a song.
literally this, i'm so impressed with the vocals in the song and Hyoyeon's amazing dance skill showcase. So i love watching the performance. But the song just makes me question why i even like it in the first place.

My all time fave kpop girlies are in one group and then the song is just such a dumpster fire that i cant help but obsessively listen to.

Honest thought? Before the lyrics debacle and before listening to the song, I expected them to debut at least in the Top 15 with the casts SM has assembled. After the whole debacle, I expected and hope at least they can chart. Maybe this more than I expected after the concert. Let see if it is going rise like DTC.
i dont think you really know how the charts work these days. There is no real time charts so for a song to debut in the top 15 on melon is kinda unrealistic. Most songs nowadays start low on the 24hits chart and slowly creep up since the chart re-form

I'm really curious what the reaction is gonna be like from the general public.
The Line-Up is crazy and really has some of the most famous kpop girlies of all time.
But the song is extremely experimental, for a girl group, this is maybe the most experimental song yet of SM. The contrasting backing vocals that sound like the choir of a creepy cult, and the violin strings in the back with the hard hitting beat. Really an odd choice for a girl group sound. But it sounds really like an SM song. Obviously SM is slowly doing what YG is doing where the sounds of different groups overlap with the overall sound of the company.
The harmonies are insane, im really getting goosebumps from the chorus of how powerful and different these girls sound together.
SM is really riding the Aespa wave and trying to appeal their sound to the public as long as this wave lasts. Could workout for them in the long run but it does seem like a very dangerous strategy. I already thought they were playing with fire when they released Savage, but the public loves the song so it worked out for them. I hope they can keep this up with GOT.
2012 because of Kids React to Kpop
With Aespa leading the pack in the 4th gen now and bringin in a lot of fans.
It can boost public interest into some of SM's older girl groups.
With Aespa in the group, they can bring in younger fans and have them embrace some of the older gg's in the line-up.
Girl groups seem to always have a shorter life span than boygroups and this could potentially expand them by keeping some of the members busy and have more success with newer comebacks.
I'm super excited to see Taeyeon and Hyoyeon join this line-up since im a huge sone, and with Aespa's current succes. it can easily put some of that spotlight on Girls Generation and Red Velvet for their future comebacks!
i've always stanned f(x) as a sone. I even have some of their albums.
even now, i'm binging f(x) their old music. I LOVE their experimental sound it never bores me.
Even as a hardcore SONE, f(x) had better b-sides.
