in all seriousness, the song could’ve been saved and been a blop but 🤡
for starters, the chorus was HORRIBLE. if there’s one thing bp can do it’s sing catchy empty choruses so it’s surprising that yg missed the mark so bloody hard with this one. another thing is that the vocalists are so so so much better than rose/jisoo duo but the three rappers couldn’t deliver 0.001% of what jennie and lisa could do in iconic songs like d4 and boombayah etc. i thought the dance would be good since big names were involved but nothing stood out in the mv. the only thing they managed to get right was actually the mv. it seemed like a low budget bp mv. it’s going to do crazy on yt so yay for small wins.
but since this is the next yg girl group debut after Thee Blackpink, I’m really disappointed ngl. if I were to compare bp and them at debut… bp would win a million times over despite having half the members and vocal prowess.. this song or even batter up isn’t coming anything close to fire by 2ne1 or whistle/boombayah by bp. It’s a bad debut. A first for YG. Even treasure boy was better

she does have a really baby face and I suppose hybe knew what it was doing when they rigged her into the final lineup. let’s be clear, she has improved tremendously since the show ended and I see potential in her stage presence now but back then she was incredibly awkward and stiff and not better than some of the other trainees in any way. also Lee Hyun was being really weird towards her idk if it was just fans microanalyzing but there were threads on twitter and they seemed creepy af. she was the companies choice in the end too…
