By Lee Min-hoWorkers in the entertainment and cultural arts industries, who often fall into legal blind spots, may soon receive legal protections against workplace harassment.
Representative Woo Jae-jun of the People Power Party (대구 북구갑) announced on the 21st that he had introduced a bill to amend the Framework Act on the Development of Popular Culture and Arts Industry. The bill aims to prevent workplace harassment by prohibiting acts that exploit power dynamics or relationships to inflict physical or mental distress or to worsen working conditions for cultural and arts workers.
While the K-pop industry continues to thrive, lesser-known entertainers and trainees often face workplace harassment but lack the legal protections available to employees in other fields.
For example, a recent complaint involving alleged workplace harassment of NewJeans member Hanni attracted public attention. However, on November 20, the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office ruled that Hanni could not be considered an employee under the Labor Standards Act, effectively closing the case.
Representative Woo emphasized that “not only high-profile figures like NewJeans’ Hanni but also many lesser-known entertainers and trainees exist in legal blind spots, unprotected by labor laws. To protect these individuals, we need broader legal and institutional measures capable of covering a wide range of workers.”

Bluejeans or newdemin
Spelling variations like new genes or nujeans wouldn't really work because it'd end up spelled the same in hangul

I voted merge because we should all be collectively miserable

Well if she's resigning just now it means that there was still a contractual relationship between both of them even after HYBE dissolved the shareholder contract.
You can't resign from a job if there's no contractual relationship anymore.
Usually when you have a high spot in a company, without being a shareholder, you might still have a non competition clause in your contract.
Cuz it means that if you were at a high spot of the hierarchy you had access to the processus of production of the company, their marketing strategy and by leaving the company with all of this things in your hands
You might bring the knowledge that this company took years to acquire to give it free to your new company and it might be consider as "parasitism"
So non competition clause are often include even in non shareholder contract.
So it's possible that she might had a contract as shareholder and another contract as salary of HYBE/ADOR
You need to sign a contract to be held to it.
MHJ maintained her previous position as a director but had no real role or responsibility because they were still hammering out the details on a Producer contract. That contract would have had a non compete of a year that she loudly protested against and refused to sign, so it's reasonable to assume she doesn't have one at all anymore.

What’s Bana? Anyway, I don’t think it will dissolve that easily. This doesn’t sound like something Hybe would do. I believe they included the clause from the start because they intended to fire her while also eliminating any potential future competition from her. There is no way they would just let her take Nj and start her own company, especially knowing the group poses a major threat to their own ggs. Hybe isn’t that 'kind', we all know it. That’s why I think Mhj were fighting for her position at Ador, it probably much easier than trying to dissolve the clause or she just genuinely didn't have any plan to leave Hybe since the start nor stealing Nj from them. Now, she’s probably finally seeking to terminate it through the court as Nj will in danger position if this going on longer.
Bana is where all of NewJeans producers are, run by fellow ex-SM staff
And Hybe was the one that made to dissolve the contract in it's entirety first, that's how they were able to fire her at all. Min HeeJin is simply agreeing to dissolve it, so that should speed it along

I'm decently sure there's a law on the books that says a company must turn over the name of all the members leave but I'm not certain

I assumed that was thrown out when Hybe dissolved the shareholder's contract, so it never made sense to me how much she fought to get it re-instated
Looks like she's getting her money and no longer forced to abide by the DNC.
The real question is would she actually start her own agency or move the girls to BANA

Blue jeans is actually a good name 😅
I only have good ideas

The letter didn't mention her returning to her position but yeah, basically guaranteed
