Opinion on child free entertainment facilities

  • What I'd really like, is child-free public transport.

Just this morning a mother and child sat opposite me and the little menace kept kicking me in the shin. Not accidentally either. The kids was looking at his own foot the entire time and occasionally glancing up to gauge my reaction, while his mother was busy typing away on her phone....It's been more than eight hours and I'm still feeling incredibly annoyed. :cursing:

  • interesting

I have a kid but I certainly don't let him run around being a nuisance...

I don't have any issue with a business wanting to that it's perfectly within their rights - it just depends on if they can get enough business and also if the "potential" negative publicity outweighs the potential profits

But wouldn't you enjoy a child free date night Once in a while with wife?

  • that's called leaving the kid with grandma lol

but we don't have issues with children (either our own or others) we're quite traditional in that sense...

Yes, you find someone to take care of your kid

Now you take your wife to a very nice restaurant so you can enjoy someone 1 on 1 time

On the table to the right, a goblins is screaming their heads off

On the table to the left, a goblin is throwing food scraps at your wife you has done her hair and makeup perfect just to have it ruined

Bonus a random goblin runs into your table and spills your drink on your nice suit

    It would be hell

I like the child free options mostly bc people let their kids be a problem to other people

  • honestly my wife doesn't really like those places lol

she's far more comfortable at a Chinese restaurant where it's more casual and not so formal

but look you don't need to convince me my friend I have no issues with such a restaurant opening or even having a "child free" night where for that particular night no children allowed

like i said in the first post it's perfectly fine but such a restaurant may get backlash from the public and the potential for "boycotts" and whatnot

  • Lulu likes formal places lmao

where people all dress up and act nice

I could see why a couple like you won't really be bothered by it. I also think people boycotting those establishments are stupid. Like people with kids obviously won't be their target customers anyway.

  • parents who can't control their kids annoy the fuck out of me. istg if my little sister acted like that in public she would def be getting scolded

    high maintenance huh ;-)

    good for you my friend

I think boycotting most things are stupid but it's everybody's right to do or not do as they please...

I actually think there there have been restaurants in my country where a restaurant did have a "child free" night or something where just for that particular night it was child free and it was ok for a while as a gimmick but it didn't have the long lasting sustainable profitability that they wanted...
