IVE don't feel like a popular group.

  • So before you come at me, I do realise that they're currently one of the most popular 4th gen girl groups. What I'm saying is that somehow they don't feel like it. If you showed me just their music and performances, I'd say they're mid-tier at best. Their music and image lacks....something? Itzy brought something new to the table, and so have Idle, and Aespa. IVE's music and concept is okay but doesn't have that something the other three do.

  • A lot of people like their music and having amazing performances isn't a criteria of u being a popular group. There are groups who are criticized for their performances but are still popular.

  • Right now they feel like your typical mid tier kpop girl group. Despite all of their achievements I agree they don't feel like this big group their fans are making them out to be. I don't even stan Aespa but your right their presence is way bigger.

  • They were just SUPER lucky with the timing of their debut. The charts were empty which gave them the perfect time to win fast. Then people are like "wow they won so quickly, they must be a big thing" so everyone started checking them out. A similar phenomenon happened with (G)i-dle. Had either groups debut while their was lots of competition on the charts, they'd likely be mid tier today. So I get what you're saying. I just wish Korea checked out these mid tier groups more because they have the best quality music.

Who did they compete with when they debut?Love dive still did amazing tho.

  • Y’all are saying that because they aren’t from the big4 noted :cryingr: You guys have to deal IVE is indeed a popular group.

And bla bla and bla eleven is still in the top 20 after 5 months despite all the big releases.

Their 1st cb was competing with BB, Gidle, Taeyeon, Psy...and they still stable you have nothing to back your points but you still managed to say more bs

  • It's because they're not from the Big 3. Same as Gidle in a way. And Ateez. Even Seventeen. People keep forgetting how popular they are and downplaying them. If the group is not from the Big 3/4 people act like they could drop off and disappear at any second

  • I think you don't feel like they're popular because they just debuted and it's strange how a group that's 6 months old is doing this good and being so popular.

Plus, it's ok to not feel it, maybe it's just because you don't really like the members or the songs they released.. there's many groups who feel like that for me too, when they're just not to your style.

This is what they said about BTS until they became too big to downplay. Big3 superiority complex is on display here. And just because you don’t “feel” they are popular, doesn’t make them unpopular. It’s the matter of perspective and bias.

  • I really liked Eleven and kinda liked Love Dive.

I do agree that their music is a bit overrated, there are a lot of 4th gen group songs that are as good or better, but i dont care. Wonyoungie and Yujinie deserve everything, they busted their asses and are still busting their asses literally bleeding for what they've accomplished.

  • Well that still doesnt change the fact that they made all the other 4th gen ggs eat dirt by skyrocketing to the top in every metric. Cope with that big4 gg stans :pepe-hehe:

  • it's always amusing to see the stress IVE gives to big 4 stans and how they try to rationalize it. My guess is the internal monologue goes something like this: "Shit, look at these insane numbers, shit the album sales are insane too, damn why are there so many articles and trends?! F*ck me, even though they surpassed my faves, I don't feel anything because they just aren't my faves so they don't feel popular at all. Smh."

  • I'd say the same about aespa but that's because I'm not a fan of theirs and don't see why they're so hyped by everyone. You see op, your feelings don't determine actual reality. The numbers all show otherwise. The sooner you accept this the better.
