They’re shooting up quick, from sales to streams to critical acclaim recently. I like Txt, but when they debut I feel Hybe just puts this group out for fun and without much expectation and I expect them having moderate success, probably trailing behind other boy groups. Did their growth/success seem unexpected to you?

I still don't understand why their debut mini only has ONE version???
It's like the guys in BH including Bang Shi hyuk didn't know what to do after Bts' dream-like success so they just wanna buy some times by putting these poor boys out there

It's the opposite for me their success is very underwhelming, they literally had all the hype and ready audiences, critically acclaimed music and on top of that most gp friendly music, interesting and unique concept, visual members, but they still can't have hit song in korea nor in the west, but boygroups in general doing underwhelming,

Like others here said, i expected them to be more succesful. Not only are they the direct juniors to the biggest kpop act ever, they are also often claimed as (one of) the group with the best discography by the kpop community, yet they aren't performing better than other top 4th gen groups. Dont misunderstand, they are doing great, but with the hype they got with their debut & still receive by army and other kpop fans, their succes is slightly underwelming.

When you think about it, TXT rather had everything ready to hit it big: insane debut hype ever since they were the direct junior to the biggest kpop group, only have 5 members so it's easy for each member to gain recognition, big budget for production (their teasers and concepts are some of the best I've seen in kpop), the most gp friendly music in the new gen by far, all members can be considered visuals & scandal free....
Yet even with all these advantages, it's been 3-4 years since they debuted and they're still not a household name. Obviously they are doing well for themselves, however I don't get what's holding them back from reaching a new height so they're not just another 4th gen boy group with high physical sales.

I thought they'd be more successful with all that privilege

Moas trying to create sob story for txt is funny They are the most privileged group in k-pop history, had the biggest hype for a debut since blackpink and are one of the first groups that comes across new k-pop fans because they also get the most mediaplay and privilege. After all of this if you really expected txt to fail then I gotta laugh at you.
