It depends. I’m all for people, regardless of gender, crying if they’re upset or hurt by something. People shouldn’t be told that they can or can’t show certain emotions because of messed up messages society tries to tell them. That being said, the moment it turns into stuff like screaming and shouting, it becomes a bit more unclear. Obviously I want them to process their emotions, but perhaps there’s a less loud way to do so that wouldn’t scare as many nearby people (if there are any). In most cases, if it was just a once or twice thing and they either do it very seldomly or not anymore (the yelling at screaming part, just to be clear).
As for if they got physical at any point during the tantrum, then no. That’s not okay with me one bit. They need therapy and a punching bag by then at the very least. Anger and stress management classes might help if they’re open to stuff like that. So basically, crying is fine and society shouldn’t shame it as much as they do and instead more widely regard it as a healthy way of expressing negative emotions. Shouting, especially at other people, comes closer to a grey area for me. Nothing physical is okay. I think all of this applies for all adults, regardless of gender, including men.
