Kpop is one of the only genres that really isn't afraid to experiment and inovate. That's what I love about it and I hope companies don't stop doing that. I can see why some people didn't like oo but I personally really enjoyed it.
So no, I don't think there was any intention of making it bad on purpose. It was just an experimental title track. There's been plenty of them before, including from JYPE
its holding on pretty well tbh, 3 days ago hit 40million, now its at 42.6million, so not terrible
Eh... we'll never know, but I doubt it. They want to give this group a music identity and risks have to be made. At this point it's pretty obvious a safer song is no guarantee of chart success. And it's not like the song is collectively hated either. O.O is still trending on Youtube Korea and managed to enter Melon and Spotify chart.
The group was already getting attention prior to their debut and they pulled 60k pre-orders with that blind package. People will always check out releases from the big agencies, whether the song is bad or not or whatever.
