Do you think Aespa will Lip sync their whole coachella performance?

  • dunno :pepe-shrug:

coz they're already awkward asf on stage

  • Honestly, SM doesn't seem interested in letting them seem live so like... I think they will.

But I loved to be proven wrong.

  • I really hope not. The crowd will be ruthless if they do, and aespa won't hear the end of it ...

But several korean acts lip synced last weekend, and sm makes terrible decisions all the time ... I wouldn't be surprised if they actually do make aespa lip sync

ally? Which ones lipsynced last weekend?

  • yes

they literally have 0 experience singing live and their audio is EXTREMELY autotuned

  • 100% like the rest of sm acts will ever do cause sm believe people are dumb

almost all of them either entirely lip synced or had the backing track on so loud that you couldn't hear the vocals at all, eg Jackson and even Bibi (which I was surprised about). Maybe they all had sound issues, but the crowd was clearly not feeling most of the performances where you couldn't hear live vocals and on the chat during the livestream everyone was commenting on it.

It's really annoying they've been doing this for the last couple of years - there were lots of actual live performances from RV, Exo, Shinee, SNSD etc pre-2020 and they're all so much more engaging than the prerecorded stuff they're doing these days (and their live vocals were great). At least they let Suho, Onew, RV perform their ballads / non-choreographed songs live these days, but for NCT and Aespa, it seems like we will never hear a live performance unless Aespa defies expectations at Coachella.

  • well if they don't sing live, they can wave goodbye to their career in the usa. The crowd doesn't like lypsync at all and they're much less forgiving than kpop stans/koreans are. Aespa will be under fire for this so sm better be smart

  • ofc they will sing live. They will slay the stage hard. watch this space!

  • Some people pretend that their American favourites don't lipsync most of the times.

  • it's a sure thing at this point. coachella don't ban lip-sync so it's right up their alley lol

Pretty sure kpop fans care more they lipsync and are less forgiving than the crowds lol.

  • To add, lipsync probably is okay as long as they give an awesome performance onstage.

  • Depends. If they were always a part of 88 Rising's stage then they will have had time to prepare.

If they are one of the acts that got accepted last minute because a headliner flounced then they've had zero prep time. And Aespa don't have much live experience, they should get a pass for lipsyncing this time.

  • Its not gonna be live 100%. Maybe with loud backtrack but I even doubt that
