4th gen groups that you think will follow Seventeen/Monsta X’s path?

  • Seventeen/Monsta X both have good, but stagnant sales. They have loyal fanbases, but their fanbases don’t grow much, and their music is not very talked about outside their fandom. Which 4th gen groups do you think will follow these 2 groups’ career, amassing a big, loyal fanbase, yet have little growth and music only impactful within the fandom?

  • Didn't Monsta X's album do a lot better though? I read something about it beating their record.

  • We'll see in 3 years when treasure and enhypen reach their 5th year.

Skz, ateez and txt next 2 years when companies begin to drop them for new meat.

  • shut up, 4th gen bgs can only dream to chart half as well as svt

It did, their sales last cb did much better than their previous and they had their highest entry on melon since chart reform.

  • Don’t know much about MX, but I don’t think we are talking about the same group here when it comes to SVT. Seventeen and stagnant sales? This must be a joke. Their last comeback sold 2.3M, if that’s stagnant to you then I wonder if 4th generation seems like a joke to you.

Their comebacks constantly chart every time they comeback, even their Eng single is so stable on k-charts rn and internationally. No offence, but I have yet to see a 4th Gen bg chart in general.

The diminishing of Seventeen’s achievements on western forums is ridiculous.

I don't think SVT are stagnant but their fans increase in size is smaller than BTS (obvs)/NCT -- SVT retains way more fans than NCT though. Thats why they are known as a "quiet fandom". It's kinda like how ITZY is growing but people pretend they're not. Yeah SVT charting is way better than any 4th gen bg but I think they meant in consideration of the fact that no 4th gen bg is really charting.

I know understand what you saying, however, having a “quiet” fanbase is different than saying “stagnant sales,” “little impact,” and so on. It often feels like Seventeen has a silent fanbase, but that’s the scary part. They are constantly growing in silence, it especially shocks western Kpop fans that are firm on the belief Seventeen isn’t successful.

As you said they don’t have stagnant sales, and of course they don’t grow their fanbase as fast or big as BTS (that’s a given), though I would have to disagree on the assumption that they have a slow growth. They had a good 800k-900k sales jump from Your Choice to Attacca in a span of just couple months, even their charting was very good last year. They were even awarded Prime Minister’s Commendation and Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism by their government consecutively for the past two years. Like I understand why people may think SVT has a silent fanbase, but to underplay their growth kind of saddens me. They have gotten so far from where they began, facing head on with groups from Big 3, but people who are unfamiliar with their achievements still diminish them.
