Do you think there's a difference between how male and female idols are expected to look and behave?

female artists are judged more harshly

female artists are judged more harshly
are there particularly things you think they are judged more harshly for?
Are there any areas you think the guys get more judgement?
-
like yup
Men and women are expected to behave differently in every part of the word for every single profession.
Gender stereotypes exist very prominently in 2022 everywhere
-
Not only in kpop but women will always higher standards than men. That’s the real life.

visuals
outfits/ styling
manners - male artists get away with being rude but not female artists
for being feminist/ showing inclinations towards feminism

Anything in particular to kpop?
Being passionate about social issues
When male idols talk about it, they are kings
Female idols, nah femenatzi

NOOOO okay change of subject
I find it normal that ggs are in demand for the gp as in the US girl groups such as Lil mix and what not have more hype than bgs me thinks
Lolol, no it was my fault cuz i started thinking of the v ways they could be different. This is fine and an important topic. I just didn't want to be too redundant if it was fully covered yday.
I'm not familar with the state of western music. Are ggs more popular than bgs?

This is very much a society problem, especially in SK. The backlash over Kim Jiyoung, born 1982 was insane even for non-celebs

Right? This extends so far beyond kpop. People are always taking women to "smile" and be pleasant. Guys don't get that.

You’re right. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been told to smile, especially at work. (“Look, man I’m just trying to concentrate on my task. “) I think it would be creepier if I constantly have a smile plastered on my face. Then the question changes to “What are you so happy about?” Damn if you do, damn if you don’t…

Now I'm just picturing you walking around at work with a maniacal serial killer grin all day...

Well….it depends on what day of the week it is
Actually, since we have to wear masks at work, I was actually told a few times “I can’t tell if you’re smiling anymore.” So I do eye smiles too just to be annoyingly cheerful much as I can.
