Should Stray Kids do a full sexy concept next time, one like 2PM?

  • Boy groups no longer touch sexy concept, but should Stray Kids be the first 4th gen boy group to bring sexy back? Something like this song and video, with female extras, sexy choreos and everything.

    Approved the thread.
  • They won't pull it off

  • It would be interesting. I'd like to see it.

  • boygroups doing sexy concept won't bring them any good these days, in the end people will drag em down for tryna be sexy and cater to teens and older women

  • Well, Stray Kids are Stray Kids, versatile, unpredictable, and always full of surprises (...and ofc also hot). But honestly, at this point of their career at least, I don't really consider it a possibility. Of course, as they grew up and as they grew more confident, their concepts did begin incorporating some sexiness, and it's not like the members can't pull off a sexy concept at all, they've covered My House countless times, it's just that those, as a whole, are all...more subtle. A.D.T.O.Y doesn't seem like their style now.

Something that might fly over the head of many people is that Stray Kids' title tracks and album concepts are always (also) a reflection on their own career and creative trajectory as a group—their concept is always themselves. They could make it work in Red Lights style, but that likely wouldn't be what you're looking for.

BUT I don't think a bside with a sexy concept is unimaginable from SKZ currently, not to slightest. Even if just as a SKZ Player, @@@35c9810f-d1ce-48f2-88b4-19d323a942f5@@@ and Lee Know have released Drive which is basically a huge sexual innuendo, and isn't even subtle about it. Then there's also Red Lights (again, unit song) which may be technically about workaholicism but it still rather blatantly uses sexuality as a metaphor. And Hyunjin's currently unreleased (but hopefully not for long) song "Beautiful" sounds kind of sensual so far, too.

However, one thing that is very, very improbable, are the female extras. All of Stray Kids' love songs so far are gender neutral (with the exception of Airplane which has the word "girl" in it, for the only time in their entire discography). When SKZ covered 2PM's My House, they went as far as changing the lyrics to make it gender neutral. The two times their MVs featured women as love interests, they were idealised, unattainable, there rather for storytelling to show the members coping with unrequited love rather than to be portrayed for their femininity itself like they are in the 2PM MV.

And as for the question whether they should: SKZ should do whatever they feel like, just as they've always done. :-)

  • Stray Kidz, like most other 4th gen groups, don't have the range to do that.

Though there are a few members just Bang Chan that could pull it off without embarrassing themselves
