[flop thoughts] I think BTS will continue to release only 2 versions of their albums moving forward ( like in the pre-wings era)

I am thinking that it won’t be the usual 4 version unless it’s a Japanese release. BE only had 2 versions ( deluxe + essential). Butter only had 2 versions ( peaches and cream). I think the future albums will also only have 2 versions.

But I do think they will continue to release the limited cute cassettes and vinyls for the title tracks. I love collecting the vinyls

If I think about it, YNWA, TMBMOL PT1/PT2, young forever all also only had 2 versions in the past. I guess the 4 versions started with their LY series ( someone correct me if I am wrong)

Me too. The only time I bought more than 1 version was for LY tear ( I got 2) because the concepts were too beautiful for me to skip

I don't think those examples point decidedly toward to a trend since both of BE and Butter were released during the pandemic, but I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand either. Whatever the case is, I'll be fine with it. I know a lot of the argument is about more versions producing better numbers, but I really don't think BTS have anything to prove here. We know they are sure bets to be top sellers and with the momentum they have and the fandom still growing, their numbers won't be anything less than stellar.

I realized before Wings, they also only released 2 versions or less. BTS don’t have to prove anything at this stage, haha it was just my observation
