If you are late for school in the morning

in my time there was no punishment in primary school but in middle and high school we had to go to the admin to get a ticket but we had to convince them we had a legitimate excuse, if they were not convinced we had to bring a parent / gardian

i remember one time i met my brother's friend in the street by chance and brought him pretending he was my brother lol

They would only make me wait till the time of the change of teachers.

When I was in high school, I used to take the school bus. If I was late because of the school bus, they couldn’t punish me or the other kids on the bus with after school detention.

But they tried to pull this bullshit on me in sophomore year of high school. My mom found out when she saw the pink slip (I didn’t go btw lol). Instead of getting mad at me, she told me to tell the people who helps kids with the school bus children this problem.

I did that and they told the guidance counselors who gave the pink slips to not do this to students who go on the school bus if the bus is late for school.

Different schools have different policies. And, it would depend upon how late you are and the method the school uses to record attendance. Generally speaking, if you arrive after powerpoint writing help the initial ‘home room’ time when teachers have taken attendance and reported absences to the administration, you will need to let the person in charge of these records know that you were not absent but arrived late.
