This cb since the start were seen as a goodbye stage for a new start so even the vibe is fitting. They did the right move going with this type of song looking at the numbers and how Koreans are loving it.

I think this song, and Suho's- since he was brought here purely because he released his song one day earlier - are more focused on what they want to say rather than how the way they say it appeals to kpop consumers. I think both songs have a heavy emotional load and both songs used the same vehicle to express it. What changes is how they are delivered but both hit the nail in their performances of the songs.
Personally, I prefer Suho's overall. Big Bang's saddens me to no end with whatever message the song is trying to convey. And they tried to do it their way with each member singing their part in the way that suits them best. If this is a cunningly crafted song to please the audiences, I don't care, I find what they say more interesting.
This was the first comeback for two artists after a long hiatus and they are just asking to listen to what they have to say. But kpop consumers rely too much on what others think or listen to.
And those who are just ignoring Suho for whatever reason they may have its their loss. Grey suit is a masterpiece.

but if they came out with something like Made now they'd be dragged for the cultural appropriation and questionable stuff in the MVs. So they're playing it safe and appealing to nostalgia. Made was so big they'll never dare to put out another proper Big Bang album, cause your reputation is always as good as your last album and they peaked with that.
