Still life is a disappointment as a casual listener

  • I am sure hardcore stans will eat that song up.

I said what I said. I think some of my co-listeners have the same thought. Even Suho’s song is better.

    What are your thoughts?

  • Agree it was not bad, will probably give a few more listens here and there but I expected something else. That said it is fitting as this is likely their last song in a while

  • I am sure hardcore stans will eat that song up.

Let me guess. Are you a certain company stan?

  • It's not bad but background music for me. While the lyrics are indeed nice the melody and arrangement are a bit bland and didn't really grab my attention.

  • It's a boring song

  • I am sure hardcore stans will eat that song up.

nah i've been a v.i.p for more than 10 years but i don't like that song it's one of my least fav song of them.it's a huge disappointment when i've been waiting for them for 5 years.

  • I like it, it’s beautiful.

Bigbang and YG are clever about hinting it as their last song, a goodbye song. Now everyone is curious and wanted to check the song out. That’s why their Melon listeners are abnormally high. And once listeners heard the lyrics and melody, they are hooked.

  • They clearly targeted Korean fans and general public with this song. Considering all the scandals they've been into all these years, I think they did a clever move by releasing a song with heartfelt lyrics.

  • Even if I could understand the lyrics I wouldn’t like it. It’s so….Korean. The same people they love IU’s catalog are listening to this song. If we were to see data on who the listeners you would see that it’s tapping into older people as well and not your normal K-pop fans (bigger target market = more listeners = more revenue).

  • lol It's kinda wild how this company and group have Koreans/Kpop fans duped for years. Now they're releasing a song about leaving the industry, our last farewell, and now Koreans everywhere are crying. OH NOEZZ!!!! They've been selling an image from the jump and kpop fans have been eating it up because they needed swaggy Asians to exist, even when they didn't lol

  • I agree that as a Bigbang fan I get more from it. The "la la la" part made me cry whereas to a casual fan it probably sounds like filler. It falls into a place of happy-sad nostalgia. I love it so much actually. It's my favourite genre from Bigbang. I couldn't be more satisfied with Still Life except that I wish it was longer. I could bathe in that song all day, I could meditate to it. It's the best song I've heard come out of K-Pop in years. In fact it feels offensive to call it K-Pop. I'm in such a love bubble the detractors can't touch me at all.

And I'm sure you have songs that make you feel that way too. We're all different. It's cool.

They didn't though? TOP already said in an inter view before release that he might work with Bigbang again in the future.

Shareholders started selling their stock thinking YGE would never be so popular again, and the company had to put out a statement to stop it saying that it wasn't the end. It's casual listeners and YouTube reactors who are interpreting it that way. The lyrics make it pretty clear that they're saying goodbye to their old days and welcoming new ones.

  • just voted blop in that blop thread since their fans attack people. i’ll just enjoy love dive instead. any song they release well get hype and love because they are “big bang” with that hiatus.

  • I don't listen to Suho, because I never vibe with exo song in general, but I've been a bigbang casual listener for years,

can't say that I am disappointed, since I am not a hardcore stan, so I don't have any expectation, but the song just not it, I tried to listen 4 times, but still not liking it.

Their older song Blues still way better

  • I really liked it.

It's normal that not everyone likes the song...
