If anything, this is a beautiful success story and should be framed as such. This man made the decision to step away from the entertainment industry to self-reflect and do volunteer work. I'd assume he kicked the habit and decided to pursue bigger and better things.
What we're supposed to "do with this information" is to realize that beauty and fragility of life.
This man could have easily continued on a self-destructive path, but he turned his life around. Now he has a #1 song to be proud of while knowing that he's got more to live for.

Agreed. People with addiction and mental health issues, which are often linked, should be embraced not pushed away. We've had far too many, especially in Kpop, that it was too late and they took their life.
What a beautiful story Kush has now that he can share with people he beat his addiction and now has his own label.
And it seems like he's using his story to help people through music as he stated, “I spent a lot of time reflecting on myself and making my mind and body healthy. The moments that I thought were trivial and worthless were the most precious moments in my life. I hope someone can relate to this song and not lose the preciousness of those important moments.”
