im neither fan nor anti
tomboy has achievements but zero competition so i wouldnt consider a national hit
national hits are a lot more based on impact rather than statistics
its the kind of song thats everywhere in the media, on the streets, on people's lips, it usually pushes the group to superstardom etc etc
-
it's not, some of you are really setting up G-idle
IU Lilac and Celebrity have more PAK than them and i never see anybody claim these songs as a national hit
SSAK3- beach again have more PAK and you'll never see someone call this song a national hit, because absolutely everybody moved on from this song and nobody is talking about it anymore, it was just a hit even with all the PAK it had
Tomboy is doing really good in the chart, applause to G-idle the song is really good so they truly deserve it but it's not a national hit, it's just a hit for the moment
and some of you are really setting G-idle by pushing this national hit narrative when the only impact the song have is on the chart

It's being played everywhere in SK. It's a national hit

And you’re Korean so you’d know where it’s being played in the media, on the streets, and on people’s lips

Since when is Jay Park+IU and Red Velvet zero competition?
Tomboy is a certified hit, if it's a national hit or not I'm not sure, but saying that it has zero competition is just wrong.

OMG and brave girls are flopping, rv aren't considered a digimon like twice (back then), bp or bts, they usually chart well and they have had hits bigger than others but they were never considered a digimon. The only real competition is IU but she's just a feature on jay park song, her solo songs are the ones which do better. Taeyeon released her song in early february and it fell quicky so while it wasn't empty house they didn't have that much real competition either.
Just be happy tomboy is doing well instead of setting gidle up

So unless you come back at the same time as IU, Blackpink or BTS it counts as zero competition?

Rookie aespa did it twice
"tomboy" has higher ULs than any song aespa has ever released, that means aespa was the one coming back with no competition. better hope no aespa fan from now on try to claim "savage " and "dreams come true" as hits since they came back during empty houses.
aespa is a one hit wonder wbk

hate to break it to you but both of those songs are national hits - "lilac" is at 34 on melon daily and "celebrity" ius at 44 melon daily over a year after release, not to mention "celebrity" won SOTY. if those songs aren't national hits then neither are "psycho", "lovesick girls", or any of the other idol songs that kpop fans love passing around as national hits.

"savage" was released in oct 5, SMTM songs didn't start releasing until over a month later
it never even cracked 400k ULs lol -

If GIDLE indeed were a digimon, Hwaa should have succeeded against IU's Celebrity.
But to use Jay Park -who never was a big digital charter, just because its featuring IU, her features mostly don't PAK (Nakka didn't either), as comparison, is a joke.
Tomboy is a hit, good for GIDLE. They have withstood RV, OMG, Brave Girls - strong acts, but they aren't BTS/IU/Taeyeon/Blackpink or in the past Twice.
Impressive, but such exaggerated bragging, is just nonsensical.
And too early to declare national hit. Now if they withstand Bigbang, then we are talking.
