why havent neverland been calling gidle 4th gen leaders

  • i rmbr itzy was competing against virtually no one except izone (but they were temporary) and people were all like "4th gen leaders"

then aespa came with next level's success, people were all like "4th gen leaders"

now gidle is doing well with tomboy but i don't see anyone going "4th gen leaders"

how come gidle isnt getting the hype the other groups got?

    Approved the thread.
  • i agree that the hype is delusional bc one song/ one good year doesnt make anyone the leader of an entire generation otherwise brave girls would have been the leader of 4th gen and momoland of 3rd gen, but im asking why people were able to envision aespa/itzy as 4th gen leaders but not gidle

  • Its been 4 years since their debut

  • Itzy was the first 4th gen gg to have a huge song and they have great sales, their name evoke much more impact than g idle. aespa have the most longevity on charts with next level and it was a massive national hit that made them South Korea's faves. On top of that by album they had the largest sales only behind Blackpink.

That's why people considered Itzy and aespa 4th gen leaders. G idle is a very successful group but they aren't stable as the big3 ones.

  • Because they are only doing really well in korea for once but nothing else. It's like if people started calling brave girls the biggest gg above bp when they dropped rollin

  • That's like people calling momoland 3rd gen leaders after.... their 1..... hit........... wonder :pepe-back-away:

  • Because Nevies are more chill and humble than other fandom stans.

  • Because gidle is almost in their 5th year and has only one successful song in their whole career. Their album sales are also not good

  • Because gidle is almost in their 5th year and has only one successful song in their whole career. Their album sales are also not good

Of course, and that's why they've been called monster rookies since debut.

You guys are either severely misinformed or pathetic liars.

Proof: they're not in their 5th year yet, which shows you're a clueless dimwit who don't know what they're talking about.

  • Same reason why Brave Girls and OH My Girl werent being called 3rd gen leaders when they got a huge hit.

You have to actually surpass the existing groups of a gen and their achievements in order to be called that.

So what's the difference between ITZY, Aespa and IDLE?

    - ITZY and Aespa both had that explosive hit and rise in their 1st year. IDLE are in their 4th or 5th year.

    - 4th gen was still new and fresh, no clear #1 yet. Now that there are, every new contender actually needs to surpass the established leader in an undeniable way. Just like BP had to defeat TWICE in multiple fields and weren't just called '3rd gen leader' when they had their first megahit.

  • Because their fans aren't toxic SM & JYP stans. People can hate all their want but you know it's true.

  • This is their 4th year.

  • They don't need the bragging rights. Empty vessels make the most noise.

  • I've seen a lot of nevies say that.

  • The mistake people do when it comes to 4th gen is to label one group as THE 4th gen leader. But there is no such thing. No groups dominate in every department in such a way that they can be objectively considered as THE leader.

With that being said, can (G)I-DLE be viewed as A 4th gen leader? Definitely yes, considering the level of success they reached, out of a non big3 company, as the first and only self produced girl group out there. Everything they achieved, they've done it with music of their own, concepts of their own, never sticking to one genre yet always faithful to their identity.

For every teenage girl trainee who aspires more to be an artist rather than a celebrity, (G)I-DLE is - or should be - a role model.

I'll quote PD of the Form of Therapy youtube channel who said this right after watching (G)I-DLE's performance of LATATA during Queendom S1 (2019):

    Quote

Okay, hold on. I need to pause to make this statement. I-DLE... I think I-DLE is the one group where I can say with pure confidence, musically, they cannot fail as a group. For them, I don't think there ever gonna be an issue with promotions, with music, charts. I don't think there'll ever be an issue because they have Soyeon. And Soyeon so powerfully understands how to market the group and how to make things interesting. I mean, even just based on the other performances we've seen, Soyeon went... I feel she went overboard. There was a challenge of "hey, you know, take your hit song and like, remix it". And she just went overboard. Like, it was insanity. And I think that's what makes I-DLE so special. I think that's what makes any groups so special when they have a leader, or someone in that group, that is not just producing their own music but also in charge of the direction of the group. It's why G-Dragon really set the standard with Big Bang and then, RM with BTS, Woozi with Seventeen... And I think I-DLE is going to be up there, and I think I-DLE is going to be the first ever girl group to get there. It's been a boys club for a really long time but Soyeon is about to break every boundary, and by consequence, I-DLE is about to break every boundary. I think I-DLE, within the next few years, is going to become one of the most popular girl groups in the nation.

I said almost in their 5th year, I know when they debuted and I have been following them since debut, so I’m definitely not clueless. This is my take on their career and I’ve definitely not heard anyone call them monster rookies. Latata was probably their best song yet and they were on a downfall before tomboy.

  • Because they're not from a big agency. People always forget non-big3/4 groups

Gidle is mentioned as one of the leaders when they have a comeback but if it goes too long between activities or a comeback underperforms just a little they're suddenly "being forgotten", "losing popularity" and "were never that popular".

Gidle is one of the 4th gen groups with the best digitals (not just Tomboy) and has been going strong since debut
