Kpop biggest mystery

    STAGE PRESENCE !

    that for me is the biggest mystery in kpop , this word is thrown by anyone , anytime with no obvious well known criteria .

    Who's in charge of STAGE PRESENCE regulations ? Cuz imo its useless in kpop cuz fans decide who got STAGE PRESENCE according to if they stan them or not , and if they dont that automatically makes the idol lack in stage presence

    And to get more technical kpop idols always preform a choreographed dance ( almost every kpop idol is considered a professional dancer , even 2ne1 would out dance dua lipa ) with a high tech camera work and huge stage production .. i can't understand how this type of stages would ever lack (?)

    You would say singers like Celine or Mariah got stage presence who normally preform standing still for hours with a few back up dancer and you never feel like the stage is empty.

    It just never make sense to me why would someone say an idol lack stage presence when that idol ( at their laziest performance ) would dance a hard choreography and get surrounded by at least 5 different cameras moving to capture every move and a high end stage production .. a turtle would rock the stage tbh

    People throw around a lot of terms with no obvious criterion like quality music, at the end of the day let people enjoy and give opinions however they like :wellr:

    How do you define stage presence?
    I've seen some debate on Twitter recently about various fancams and whether the performers in them have stage presence. What qualities do you think factor into having stage presence? Which idol would you point to as an example of good stage presence?

    Overall I think stage presence is as subjective as the discussion about vocal color, and also as often abused for fanwarring as terms like 'it girl', 'visual' etc.


    But that doesn't mean that stage presence doesn't exist or can't be felt. It's just that, just like with beauty, not everyone will agree to the same preferences.

    Pretty funny because one of the gg attack for their lack of stage presence is the most successfull right now


    It just prove that stage presence is nothing and people just love to throw this name everywhere to find a way to hype their favs

    different strokes for different folks...


    but maybe it's something to be defined in the negative - that is one can't pinpoint exactly what stage presence is but one can see where it isn't

    Stage presence is felt and you either feel that idols presence or you don't.


    You can't really tell someone they're wrong when they say this idol has stage presence.. they clearly feel it which is why they're saying it...


    You can't say they are not feeling their presence....


    Its only a mystery if you assume it is universal instead of it being individual.

    No one says it’s needed...being successful has nothing to do with stage presence always throwing a tantrum :pepenomad:
