Am I the only one who enjoys listening to video game music?

  • The SNES and Nintendo 64 era had amazing soundtracks: Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2, Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy V & VI, Top Gear.

My favorite soundtrack is from Chrono Trigger

From "recent" games I really like the soundtrack from Final Fantasy X.

A "recent" song that in my opinion deserves a shout-out is Sweden from Minecraft. The section at 2:06 is amazing.

  • I don't listen to it on a regular basis but there are some really pretty ones. FF soundtracks are always A++. I'm in love with the Legend of Zelda theme song actually... :cryingr:

And for some reason, Minecraft's new soundtrack is REALLY good. I love playing the game but I was like "eh, I'm not really feeling the new songs" other than that Sweden one that you've listed.

And I'm talking about the soundtrack you have when you're in the main menu. But literally, I just found out that Minecraft has about 400 songs or something... :cryingr:

I haven't heard the new soundtrack. I only played it in 2011.

  • i'm obsessed with the zelda sountrack so much. i listen to it occasionally when i'm in the mood, i had different songs as my ringtones/notification sounds at one point, and i've seen the zelda symphony live.

  • I don't care what you think, the entire Kahoot! soundtrack is full of nothing but bops. Hit after hit. Just Dance has a lot of great songs too, but I feel like putting that for an answer in partially cheating. Have a great day/night!

This brings back memories!! I remember Kahoot was my favorite thing to play in class since it was so competitive and we usually got prizes if you got 1-3 place like candy or stickers.

We don't play it much anymore in high school but we still have things now like Quizlet Live, Gimkit ans some other game I forgot the name of lol

When I become a teacher, I will be the local Kahoot! enthusiast. The other games are still fun and may be better for actually learning, but Kahoot! is funner, more competitive (in a fun way) and is good for review (not learning). Plus, I will always play the kahoot! soundtrack for my students when we play it because I have taste and want my students to have it too. Have a great day/night!

Oh, so you're planning on becoming a teacher? That's actually really cool :claps:

Ohh yeah! Kahoot is really fun :pepe-excited:

I think that it's a fun and engaging way to have a review. I've had teachers that help us buy reviewing for the test 2-1 classes before and it's something boring like doing classwork over the vocab. Some make it fun but I think the best way is through a competitive game like that.

I think I like Quizlet Live more though because it's like Kahoot in a way but it's in teams

I am (planning on being a teacher I mean) and have been wanting to be one for a long time. Thank you! It really is. Yeah, just doing classwork to review is a bit boring and there's research that shows people remember education stuff better when they have fun learning it, so I don't know why they still do it, but whatever floats their boat, it's their classroom. Yep, as long as it's not too extremely competitive for that particular group of students, I say it's a good review idea and I stand by that. That is true and I can respect that, but for me that game is hit or miss because Kahoot! does have a teams mode and also because you have no idea what your teammates will be like (actually good, goofing off, lazy, etc...). Kahoot! has the superior soundtrack though, you have to admit that. Very little beats their ten second countdown or their lobby music. Have a great day/night!

  • I LOOOOOOOVEEEEEE video game music and it's so underrated. There are so many beautiful tracks that people barely know of. I listen to it almost everyday, especially the Final Fantasy (FF 13-trilogy as a whole has an AMAZING soundtrack, FF7/FF7 remake, FF10, FF15 - those are the only ones I've played so far and I don't want to spoil myself for the other parts' OST lmao), Nier and Kingdom Hearts OSTs. I love them too much omg

AND YEEEES omg I also recently (re-)discovered Minecraft music after suddenly thinking about how nice the music was when I played the game like 8 years ago. It got so many incredible tracks. Especially love Sweden, Clark, Minecraft and Living Mice :pepelove1:
