I think it use to be one pre recorded performance and then a live performance for the audience. But now without an audience they can just do as many takes as they want until its 100% perfection.
Back in the day slight miscues or mess ups were part of the charm. Made the groups feel more human and relatable. Now they are as perfect as robots.

It feels much more ...... Lifeless.
They need to be doing it in front of people live. Heading the fan chants. The yells. And excitement.
That's the magic.
