[enter-talk] Park Myung Soo mentioned his controversy with Twice

  • Still This isn't even a big deal. As a Korean man myself. I see this often asked by those of the older generation, for a variety of reasons. Some mannerisms that forgieners display make it seem like they aren't paying attention so you might ask halfway through the conversation " are you following me? Or do you understand". Another reason could be they aren't familiar with your level of Korean and may ask a few times during a conversation especially if the subject presented goes into more formal speech a different dialect or newer slang a good amount of that stuff isn't taught in a school curriculum. The older generation is abit more rough with it like "do you understand Korean" instead of" are you understanding me well?" One sounds less harsh both mean the same fucking thing neither is done to mock you.

Thank you for proving insight into Korean culture. I was explaining how since most of the hate is from us international fans we don't care about the chart question. Our concern was with how we perceived how he seemed when he kept asking Tzuyu if she understood Korean.

We are not Korean so to us it seemed rude. Do I agree with ONCE sending him death threats? Of course not! We just were not aware of the language behind it, only with what we knew of subtitles and those translating made it seem like he was badgering/looking down on Tzuyu's Korean rather than checking to see if she was understanding of the question.

  • Thank you. The fact people are purposely ignoring the actual reasons for complaint and this guy's horrendous history just to shit on ONCE and Twice's charting is ridiculous.

  • I feel like there is a boundary that's not really fully agreed upon by anyone where it's difficult to know what to say and what not to say. Some people view the charts/Korean/other comments as disrespectful while others don't see it as a big deal. It sucks though because you don't want to cross a line and make someone uncomfortable by asking weird questions but at the same time you don't want to feel like you have to censor yourself so much that you're only asking really superficial questions because of overprotective fans. Idk how to feel about this controversy tbh.

  • Why is the strange comments about their BFs being ignored once again?

Or the constant asking if Tzuyu could understand him?

Suppose that doesn't fit the narrative. Someone tell these middle age Korean men acting like an innocent child isn't cute when you have a record of strange and incel like behaviour.

    This

He has a history of mistreating female idols as well

These netizen comments are never representative

  • isn't this the same trash that said he hit his ex girlfriend a 100 times? Asked an unmarried women if she's sane why doesn't she marry someone and said revealing clothes cause rape? This is the man they are defending?

Regardless of his intentions with the original question, this time was unnecessary and shady to bring up and obviously would just encourage people to hate on them again. Also back to the original situation, did he not even look up the song or bother to check out the people he's about to interview? That's on him. I wouldn't go into an interview for someone promoting their song without at least checking out some basics on the song to 1) be informed and 2) avoid sensitivities like this

Anyways people can hate on Tzuyu and Dahyun all they want but the fact is none of them would be able to handle it better. If something went "wrong" with your own career (and you were also already receiving hate for it) and someone publicly asked you about it, most people would also be taken aback and not sure how to answer

And just to clarify, he didn't deserve the death threats and other extreme hate but this was unnecessary

Exactly. He's insulted SO many idols before from Jessica to BTS and have been called out by their fandoms and the idols themselves but now that it's TWICE, it's the girls fault for being too sensitive and not knowing?

Fuck outta here. Park Myungsoo is trash for constantly making fun and joking about Tzuyu's Korean.

I really don't like how him, some knets and users here are acting like he doesn't have a history of being a dick and was just a victim of "overtly sensitive" fans. Him playing that card makes no sense. It's about time he realizes inappropriate remarks have consequences. Not death threats but he can't aggressively say shit like if tzuyu doesn't reply fast the media will write that she won't wait for her military boyfriend and expect people to high five him. He was very clearly trying to stir up shit with that question.

    Desbundar

Him and Kim Gura sit in the same trash bin, the fact that he brought it up with Davichi means he wants sympathy. They spent so long getting away with insulting idols and STILL havnt learned people are done with it.
