Some need to accept that people can evolve!

  • (I'm talking in general as in our real life too, not just akp)

Just a random though here, but i feel like some people refuse to accept others evolvement and this is such a weird thing bc to me "changing" is the most human thing and evolving shouldn't be something decided neither accepted by others.

We shouldn't judge others when they are trying to change for the better and we shouldn't gatekeep their evolution bc we want to keep our little toxic mentality against the person. So my point is: being mad at someone for months/years while that someone is clearly trying to change or changed doesn't give us the authority to always "persecute" them. We should let our emotions go bc constantly attacking someone over a past mistake isn't right neither makes us the better person. Simple! Gatekeeping somebody else evolution isn't right!

*I'm not talking about criminals guys, just petty fights or past behaviors and when the person is trying to evolve.

    Evolving is a natural thing!

    Byeeeeeee!

  • Even with criminals, if they have served their time and they have shown that they have reformed, should we continue to punish them? I mean, some continued restrictions may be warranted depended on risk level and what they did, but if someone stole something at 19 and they turned their lives around and became contributing members of society with clean records for the next 15 years, should they still suffer punishments? In some states here, that person wouldn't be allowed to vote.

  • True logic and equal-opportunity reasoning skills are not usual parts of the kpop fans arsenal. Thanks for trying though.

Totally, i just put the * bc people like to play dumb and ignore the subject while changing the narrative!!!

You are totally right! The most beautiful thing is people changing for the better!

  • I mean yeah thats the standard expectation right? But honestly people go off of first impressions most of the time. Including me, I never evolved out of that. However, its true people can better themselves.

Uhmmm... I don't agree on the "first impression" thing bc judging someone over a first impression while seeing that the person is different of what you thought is more than enough to change your ideas about the person too.

Actually not just kpop fans.. even when we know somebody who was "bad" in the past and the person is changed sometimes we still try to judge them based on the past so it's really more a general idea. But thanks!

  • I honestly hate it when there's that one aunt I never heard about tries to do things that I used to like as a toddler because 1 who tf are you and 2 I'm not a kid anymore and 3 please stop doing that.

Like its great to catch up but please update your perception of me to actually reflect the person you are talking to currently not who you think you are talking to.

Oh it most surely is not just a kpop thing, it is just more overtly encouraged in some circles. It's part of the petty and vindictive side of the human psyche and a flaw in the human condition that we all hopefully try to overcome as we grow and mature. That doesn't always happen though.

  • you speak the truth :yesr:

one of the reasons why I can't stand cancel culture

How dumb is to cancel somebody over something they said or did let's say 10 years ago and they don't continue with the same behaviour ? Unless it's something extremly awful ofc but I feel like people have a very different perception on what "awful" actually means

Yes. Cancel culture on past behaviors is the most illogical thing I've ever saw... Literally everybody can evolve so trying to use past mistakes as a present judgment just screams lack of humanity for me.
