I have a gut feeling Kep1er’s debut postponement is related to Xiaoting

Not fully buying the ‘one staff got corona, everyone else is negative but we’ll postpone the debut anyway’ story.

Xiaoting is the only Chinese member, she’s struggling with Korean a lot, she’s still learning the language at beginner level. Not to mention all her Chinese peers left Korea with negative things said by them about Mnet. And the route previous Chinese idols took, partially due to Chinese investors/companies trying to influence them. It seems like a lot of pressure to leave Korea and avoid the hassles foreigners face in Korea.

I wonder if Xiaoting told them “I want to GTFO” and they’re trying to work a deal with her.

You’re not realizing how much Chinese friends, family, companies, peers, etc would be trying to persuade her to just come back to China. It’s a fact that there exists animosity between both nationalities and Chinese in general believe a Chinese person will suffer and be taken advantage of in Korea. Because that’s literally all Chinese idols who left Korea say. And it’s a mix of fact and exaggerating for profit. They know the bigger Korea sob story they have the more the Chinese public and industry will favor them.

Requesting to leave after recording the song is the best bargaining chip in that scenario.

you can ask the same question to all Chinese idols who left kpop. Why wait until after debut when they already suffered a lot as trainees.

Because they need to get their name out first, it’s about the money as much as it is about comfort
