There is a big history in kpop of mistreatment so many popular idols like to strike out in China and leave to a place where they can profit more. Artists like Jackson/Tzuyu were banned from doing solo promotions in JYP contracts [extensively in China], hence why Jackson left. What people don't realize is that a) that is not possible anymore, contracts are very strict and Ningning is on a 10 year contract and b) these idols are often limited in how they are pushed/given oppurtunities
There's also a lot of sinophobia as every single Chinese idol so far has supported the CCP (sometimes they were forced to a la Zhoumi but there are some legitimate supporters of the CCP ex: Lay) which leads to constant negative perception of them. Especially with females, in a public based group Ningning will always get the brunt of the blame. Victoria debuted in a time where relations were easier and f(x) had so many scandals (thanks knetizens) that made her nationality less of a problem. It's actually scary, netizens calling her the "pride of China" and "China's goddess" suddenly switched upon her when she supported the CCP and now some of the worst hate she gets is from Korea. Remember that story about that Victoria fan that deleted a ton of hate posts from C/Knetz....yeah. Also remember Victoria is a visual while Ningning is a main vocal [note most knets don't consider her a main vocal but Winter instead] Lookism matters.
Not defending supporting the CCP but I was in a culture that was also very authoritarian in nature (post Soviet) and I can understand why an idol would not jeopardize their career and life and support the CCP. There is a reason why Japanese idols are preferred in kpop. There is a lot of history behind China-Korea-Japan relations.

I live nearby but I’m not going to go see them — I’m just happy we’re breathing the same air haha. My friend lives nearby and said there were so many fans around, she could see them a block away.
yeah i saw some video there was a lot of fans
and i think friday there'll be even more fans, because most people learn about this event at the last minute

That's crazy even SM team didn't expect to see so much fan at the fan even cookies for aespa
they were suppose to stay longer with the fans, but because there was too many of them they stay only 2 minutes
