Is it true that txt only survives off company privilege?

  • No their "Bighit's new boy group" hype died a long time ago. It's 2021 that phase was like 2019

  • god u can say that for every gp from big company out there

  • Like any group from the big 3. Either all do or none does.

  • Saying so is a bit of an exaggeration but they can thank their privilege for a lot, compared to other groups.

They got a MASSIVE boost from being BTS' juniors. How else would have been possible to get 100k preorders when people didn't even know what they sounded like or what kind of people they were?

And no, contrary to what moas try to make people believe, bandwagon stans didn't all magically leave when their comeback was delayed. It doesn't work like that. Company stans will support a group as long it's under the company. Also, BTS keep growing and growing, TXT still get the exposure for those new Armys.

But even if their little story was true, it doesn't matter whether the fandom currently is composed of mostly armys and company stans or not. They had a pretty big fandom from the beginning; fandoms so many things like streaming, voting, and creating tremendous amounts of content to draw people in or keep people in the fandom.

And just think about why they ever receive praise, and why many moas stan. Their music? First of all, it's not their work but bighit producers. Second, it's kind of bland. But because it's so bland and designed to appeal to as many people as possible, and due the boost the company gave them, people worship them as if they reinvented kpop. Their concepts? Also carefully crafted by bighit employees, with attention to current trends to follow; and arguably taking inspiration from what worked for BTS (HYYH for example).

So how about the things TXT are responsible for?

Dancing? Yes, they're synchronised and all members are above average. Just like almost every other 4th gen group. Their vocals? There's a reason they get made fun of. Rapping? They don't even do that. (but it's just because they're #notliketheothergirls right) Stage presence? Yeonjun has some and the rest...

As you can see, what TXT are praised for is usually the company's work.

  • I doubt txt's music would sound any different if it was any other 5 boys singing it in the studio, that's how little they contribute to their sound and music imo, specially with the heavy vocal processing that distort their voices beyond recognition. Take away hybe's privilege and creative team and you'll be left with 5 very average boys with no remarkable skills. And, no the same can't be said about most other big3 groups. When you take away big3 privilege you'll still be left with some outstanding talents that would pretty much shine anywhere, especially in SM with their main vocalists and main dancers.

Hybe apparently still didn't get the memo about backing up company privilege with real talent.

  • TXT has privileges but they also gained fans on their own. Privilege can take u only so far.

  • Txt is very dependent on their company. They have the biggest privilege of any of the kpop groups in history have ever had.

But still they are popular because of themselves. They sing their music. Their fans like their voices. They like their performances. They like their dancing. They have good looking faces.

Moas are toxic. Try to deny alot of things. Especially on this forum. But that doesn't mean txt should be bashed because of them.

  • Off topic: I hate "Wicked."

  • Lol at all the salty b*tches here :smirks2:

  • No their music is good and members are fun and talented

  • They did gain attention from being bts's brother group. That's a privilege along with debuting in a company that has the money to fund their mvs, album production and promotion.

But being in a company that produces music for them isn't privilege. Lol. Their job is to perform as idols. Groups like bts sure do have bigger inputs on their musical direction but that's just a plus. It's not a kpop idol's main job. It's not mandatory. And it isn't as if txt has zero contribution. I'm pretty sure they have contributions towards production and lyrics writing. Hueningkai (along with El Capitxn) is literally the producer of Dear Sputnik.

Anyway, are txt privileged? Yes, they are. It's would be hyprocritical to say that they'll get as much debut exposure if they debuted in another company.

Do they only survive until now because of their privilege? The answer is unknown unless you travel in an alternate universe where they debuted in another company. Would another company push them to produce music on their own or just give them an already finished piece? Would another company be able produce MVs the same as the ones Bighit gave them? Would another company give them a unique concept or just go with the current trend of bg concepts? You see, the possibilities are endless.

Also, big3 stans have to shut up with their privilege denial. You know debuting in a big company is a boost in anyone's early stage of career. Bigger companies have money and money makes production possible. Unless your faves are from 1st or 2nd gen, then they're definitely enjoying their privilege. It's not a bad thing, actually. Debuting in a big company is literally a lot of trainees dream since they won't have to go through nugudom.

  • Enhypen is the group who survive thanks to company privilege

TXT at least chart on korean chart, but enhypen were selling as much than TXT just because they had a survival and are related to Bighit

  • they survive on BTS privilege. No one would have known of their name if they velonged to any other company with that mediocrity

Which Moas are toxic on this forum? Most of us just stay in the guild 90% of the time.

I disagree with this, they had the same privilege has other groups, like ITZY.

  • that one weirdo going around crying "MoAS ToXIC" because they had an argument with one random moa :clown::clown:

  • it doesn't help that bighit keep pushing the bts's brother image on them, i saw they're covering dynamite somewhere right???they'll be fine on their own but being bts's brother is what they have so it's not a good or bad thing lol
