JYP Please Stop Mediaplaying Itzy as Twice's Little Sisters in Japan, When you Can't be Bothered to Promote Twice at all.

Sorry, but this has to be said. It's been a solid 2-3 years now since Twice got any form of real, thoughtful promotion in Japan. They've been living off scraps and the bare minimum from 3 minute medley's on Music Station(if we're lucky) to terrible release dates stacked as an after thought on the back of a Korean album.

When Feel Special boomed and they got a bunch of year end invites JYP sent them to 0, never promoted the song at all, gave them half assed Japan songs instead and now with the Feels doing well JYP/RR hasn't even made the song available for DL or promoted it. Since the turn of the millennium about 3 Japan born artist have hit the Hot100 and recently Momo, Mina and Sana joined that list and what did JYP actually do to big it up, celebrate it, media play it and make Japanese people proud and aware? If you guessed the square route of nothing well ding, you're correct.

This alone is an issue, but to promote other company groups, send them on Japan promotions and to TV and what not and have the nerve to finally mention Twice's name in Japan only to use them as a clout chasing promotional tool and launch pad for your other groups? Sorry for the rant, but cut that fucking shit out right now.

They promoted Niziu in the same way and have been pretty much exclusively pushing only Niziu in Japan since like 2019/2020 since the show started.

Twice isn't doing super well since the promotion and effort dried up, they only really care to mention Twice now when it's to promote other groups.

If Itzy can't stand on their own(like Twice had to) that's on them. This isn't a 'paved the way' situation, this is a 'put some fucking effort into Twice before using their name' situation.

Yes it is a big deal. When you take everything in the OP into account how they pretty much half-assed and cost Twice a lot in Japan and passed up on many promo opportunities for Twice it IS a big deal to use them as a promotion piece for other groups.

It's disrespectful and really a spit into the face of the work Twice and Once had done to give JYP any form of relevance in Japan only to see the company hand that market off to other groups like Nizui and now attempting it further with Itzy.

Yes, and DON'T mistake this for hate r blame at Itzy when this is about JYP using Twice name. It's cheap and lazy and as a Once it makes me pissed to think how much Twice was worked into the ground from 2016 to about early 2019 playing show after show, comeback after comeback, flying to Japan and back tons of times each quarter only to have JYP hand the market off to other groups and almost exclusively abandon Twice promo in Japan.

I hate to see how Twice have been treated and basically pushed as cash cows to fund the company and scrape by with low effort and cheap ass treatment for years.

Like just an example of this week alone. Twice got shit for endorsing a cheap, unkown whitening brand. Once complained and campaigned against it...what now? A Twice member has another CF booked for a similar unknown product that sells the same shit....for what? JYP wants to further push the company into SEA and fuck it if Twice's image gets damaged in the process...well that's collateral damage to them.

Formula Of Love has been sold out now for 12 days on Twiceshop and no digital version has been made available for pre purchase....but hey who cares? When your only ambition for a group is to use their name for newer groups benefits none of this matters any way.

Twice worked and is still working hard to give the rest of the company especially the girl groups a bright future in the company. Before twice became massive jyp was a sinking ship. Niziu was pretty much debuted just because twice was big in Japan and earned tons of $ there and in the process took a chunk of twice's fandom. Every gg in jyp will benefit in Japan thanks to twice. Their names will always be attached. Seems unfair but you'll have to get used to it. Twice has and will be milked to extreme. The fact that no other group in the company follows twice's busy schedule itself is telling.

The things here are sadly true.

Twice are paid complete dirt, to see them physically run into the ground for that market over the last few years only to essentially watch JYP pull it away from them for new groups is so disgusting and upsetting to me.

I honestly haven't spent money on Twice since Feel Special and I don't ever see that changing, I know several people who have also stopped spending on Twice too over the last couple of years. It's become too obvious that the company is working the girls into the ground and half assing their careers now while taking Once's money and putting it seemingly everywhere but Twice.
