Why was the interpol involved in the tax evasion instead of the Korean Government? Was he hiding in some foreign country during this time?
Interpol often does things like this. When the wirecard scandal was going on, I think interpol also had to investigate. Also I think the Korean government was very corrupt at that time since the president who actually pardoned him committed suicide due to his own corruption scandals
edit: I remembered more. He evaded d the taxes by a fake company and transfered a lot of company money to it. He payed back all the money though

he still has a ghost company called Lake Planning 100% owned by Lee Soo man. Every year 44% of SM's operating profit goes to this company. No matter how much money humans have they will still want more more more
