What do you consider mediaplay?

  • I have seen 2 different definitions:

    1. Companies pushing the news about their artist achievements massively.

    2. Companies turning their artist achievements into something that is not real to make it seem bigger.

I thought the 2 was the correct one but I don’t even know.

  • i mean real media play is a combination of those two things. like a company pushes articles about their group heavily that overhypes achievements that rlly arent that big or that basically lie about things the artist has achieved especially in comparison to other big groups.

  • I'd probably define it as excessive bragging about fabricated and/or obscure achievements that are presented as incredible and unprecedented. Particularly if they also name drop bigger artists to give the impression that they're almost on the same level or even about to surpass the more popular group.
