I agree in part but it's only when that private life becomes public is there the issue of character...

character is very important because it forms part of the person we are idolising...whether it be an idol, sportstar, actresses, etc etc

a public figure's entire credibility rests on their character and if that person's reputation is ruined because of a wrongdoing sure it's not a crime but to some people it might be a stain on their character and thus that person might choose to no longer idolise that person...
