making music that you enjoy and then the fans come?
why focus on people that don't like your music/product?
people tend to focus too much on the negatives and not enough on the positives...

sometimes there's no much we can do about the negatives...so instead focus on what you're good at and enjoy...
like if you dislike or fear public speaking then maybe don't be a public speaker/lawyer and focus on things that one is good at....

I actually have another perspective.
Instead of avoiding, why not facing it? You won't be able to get rid of your fears If you never take the first step. One day you can run away, but in the future It can come back to haunt you somehow and you won't have the same choice.
At least, This is what I try to do. Even If the first experiences are so hard.

and I concur...we should always try to face our fears but rather than fears I'm talking about things that one might not necessarily be good at as oppose to complete fear...
take me for example - like SKZ I'm short lol and being the boomer that I am I'm never going to grow to be tall and when i was younger I used to be like self-conscious about my height but as I grew up I eventually realised that sure I'm short and that is a negative but don't dwell on it and focus on things that I have which are positive instead

Long story short, I feel that I don't value the qualities people say I have as much as I should
well here's the thing...
firstly I'm neutral since I obviously don't know you well enough to be able to comment one way or another...
but those compliments that people give you are for a reason...no?
and we always judge ourselves harsher than we judge others...our mistakes are magnified 100 times compared to when we view the same mistakes in others...
and then our positives (the compliments) we always down play them when others say that of us...
would that be a fair statement?
