    That's not true, as Music Bank still allows unlimited wins.


    For reference, here's a complete listing of all of Dynamite's 32 music show wins. Note that Music Bank was the show that really allowed the song to have win longevity.

    i didn't say music bank is not unlimited anymore though. i am merely stating my opinion that it cannot like dynamite anymore.:eyes:

    The music bank wins after November 20th... were aided by BE's physicals being counted towards it. (something butter might not have until the release this Friday).


    So take away those wins as they aren't comparable just yet... that's 24 wins....

    now bring in the 5 win cap from music core.... that is minus another 5 wins as they had 10 music core wins

    so that's around 19 wins


    so basically 19 wins vs. 12 wins (under the same conditions (ie 5 music core cap and no physicals). Not that big of a difference.


    Now the reason for the difference... i can tell you

    1. It isn't as strong as dynamite digitally (that doesn't mean its doing badly... Dynamite's just a MASSIVE MASSIVE HIT... to the point its even above the top 2021 song already on melon).


    2. Music Bank which is where they won the most to make the difference between the two... is heavily reliant on physical sales. Butter does not have any yet.


    Also ... the competition for dynamite in around September - October 2020 physical sales wise was not as strong as May-June 2021 physical sales wise.


    The best selling release of september 2020 was around 300k sales. This allowed Dynamite to rake up wins in all of September.


    In october 2020... there was more competition on music bank for dynamite with them losing 4 times consecutively due to ncts, svts, bp and twice's album sales.


    in comparison

    May 2021 had NCT Dream who sold 1.9M and TXT who has sold 700k

    June 2021 had EXO and SVT who both sold over 1M each as well (around 1M and 1.3M respectively).



    So Basically its a combination of not being dynamite level strong digitally (but still doing extremely well digitally) + facing more competition immediately. Now I'm guessing they may get a few more with the release of PTD + the butter physical CD release which will allow the song to have physical points (if Butter stays doing better than PTD digitally, otherwise PTD will get the physical points and it'll be BTS vs BTS).

    Oh yes, I agree with all of this. I appreciate the analysis, and agree that it will be a tougher road ahead for Butter for the reasons you laid out. I was merely pushing back on the assertion that a song achieving 32 wins from this point forward is "impossible", rather than just very, very difficult.
