Which is better for a group to start with bright and cute concepts then switch to darker intense concept or the other way around?

Personally, it might be a strange change but I think cute to mature would be better...I mean, for Twice they got people mad but they were also growing up and they can't do the cute concept forever...

Dark, then flop, and switch to bright.

its always better to go cute route first then mature. Cause no one find their cute stuff valid later except fans. I do think the opposite can be pretty interesting though, but I can't think of any group rn that did it properly.

I feel like it's harder for fans that prefer darker concepts to accept cuter concepts, whereas people who stan cute are more ready to accept that the group will eventually change their sound.

It would be interesting to see someone do it the other way, but I'm not sure it'll go down that well.

Cute to Dark. It's a more natural procession in concepts as they age!

Bg- dark and stay as dark because bg stans don't like cute bgs.

this is uncommon, but fresh-dark-then fresh again worked very well for SVT.

idk why but their An Ode era (the Fear one, more mature/dark) wasn't that successful considering their previous releases, but then Heng:garae (their fresh one with Left and Right) came in and they did incredibly great.

So far it's seem most groups had more success going from cute to dark vs the other way around. I could be wrong, I haven't actually counted them.
