Why BTS have such a huge gap between their Hanteo and Gaon sales?

The gap between Gaon and Hanteo sales is almost 11M, i know the difference between both charts but I want to know if perhaps their international success have something to do with the big difference compare to literally all the artist since Hanteo only count sales from their certified stores.

You got it

They are popular enough internationally to that not all their sales are from Hanteo certified stores so are not counted on that chart. Gaon counts worldwide though (except for Japanese sales).

They have an extremely large international fanbase, Hanteo tracks affiliated store sales whereas Gaon tracks shipments. Both are global stats.

In addition, Gaon counts albums waiting on the shelves. BTS is constantly selling off the shelf because their back catalog continues to sell well. Every store wants to have the albums of a group that sells like a hot cake.

To add to this, BTS has sold 2 million albums this year so far without a comeback
