TWICE records over 500k pre orders for their upcoming mini album "Taste of Love"

  • Was expecting more considering the massive increase among all their peers recently, but at least they somewhat reversed the physical decline. Stagnant is better than nothing. They might reach More and More level sales. Not impressive, but solid.

It also has a lot to do with that JYP already released one JP release and announced a bigger one... The physical sales powerhousehas been bleed dry so to speak. With the amount of releases Twice has it's crazy that they still pull the same numbers as usuall, if Twice had less but bigger releases and more promo they'd definently see huge growth since the fans would have had time to prepare and for only one release that is, not 3 like this time.

I definitely agree with this. I wonder when fan signs and all that start to open again, would Twice start selling even more albums and start re-peaking with album sales. I remember their fan signs were pretty big deals pre-corona

  • How much of the 500k pre-orders are from China?

cbars have collected money for around 60k but im not sure if they already dropped the orders yet. They usually do after the cb cause some member bars decide to take out their funds if they think that their member is mistreated.

Covid is a huge blow towards Twice's Japanese sales. Without hi touch event in Japan, album sales from Japan most definitely starts to decline but at the same time, it means that their sales are going to be perfectly fine once the pandemic is over

I don't fully agree. Even when they have longer hiatuses, it hasn't affected their numbers more than 10 percent. It would go up, but definitely not hugely. They could do with some more promo though

A lot of their older fans have kind of outgrown them, so I don't see it going back up *much* after the pandemic.

But they've really never had a long hiatus. Yeah sure there was that 8 months long korean comeback hiatus between FS and m&m, but during those 8 months there was a Japanese album and a repac not to mention another japanese comback announced for after m&m similar to the situation right now.

You must also consider Chinese pre-orders
