Is this tv show format that is currently missing in K-Pop?

  • Before you say you have enough music tv shows, let me explain the concept of this series.

    agency.jpg

So in China there is a new music tv show 'Youth and Melody'.

Artists from the six biggest agencies, named here as "families" are competing together on the stage. Each agency has leader/representative which is participating in stages either engaging in solo, duo, or group battles (then more members come).

Here is a moment in which Lay was saying his introduction, and then leaders of each family were presented. Of course earlier they had fun guessing who will be the leader etc.

Now, of course, there are fans in the audience and they vote after performances.

Wouldn't it be cool to see HYBE, SM, JYP, YG, RBW, P Nation, or any other agency in such a show?

Imagine how cool stages you could make, how many collaborations within the label you could unveil.

Here is the most recent episode you can "scroll" through it to see performances.

  • Sounds interesting is this however like 'We Are Blazing' where multiple groups both girl and boy groups compete?

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T HATE ON IDOLS

    1. They are young people trying their best in a competitive industry.

    2. You don't know what other pressures they are under, company mistreatment, diet, lack of success, not earning, long hard hours, family problems etc.

    3. They have worked for years towards a dream to entertain us and offer it up pretty much free if you factor in streaming, Youtube MVs, reality shows.

    4. We all know what can happen in extreme cases, mental health problems and even suicide (Sulli)

yes it's like that just with full focus on Idol groups, to give more light and introduce their performances to general public

  • Cool idea but... this only gives the larger companies/groups more exposure.

I'm an advocate for small to medium-sized groups. Groups who have the talent but not the marketing.
